As of 4:00 PM Kyiv time on December 7, there have been 78 combat engagements along the front since the start of the day. The highest number of clashes was again recorded in the Pokrovsk direction, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Russian shelling

Today, Russian artillery struck communities in border settlements, including:

  • Klyusy, Zarichchia, and Bohdanove in the Chernihiv region;
  • Korenok, Bobylivka, Yastrubshchyna, Shalyhyne, and Buniakyne in the Sumy region.

Frontline situation

In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, the Russian army carried out 79 attacks on Ukrainian positions and settlements.

In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, Ukrainian forces repelled two attacks as the enemy attempted to advance near Vovchansk.

In the Kupiansk direction, no offensive actions were reported.

In the Lyman direction, Russians launched seven attacks on Ukrainian positions near Hrekivka, Derylove, Zarichne, and Myrne, as well as in the directions of Oleksandrivka and Stavok. One combat engagement is ongoing.

In the Sloviansk direction, Ukrainian forces repelled three attacks, with enemy units attempting to advance near Yampil and Serebrianka.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy made an unsuccessful attempt to breach Ukrainian defenses near Chasiv Yar.

In the Kostiantynivka direction, Russian forces carried out 13 assaults near Oleksandro-Shultyne, Pleshchiivka, Shcherbynivka, Yablunivka, and toward Kostiantynivka, Ivanopillia, Novopavlivka, and Sofiivka. Two combat engagements are still ongoing.

In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy attempted 27 times to push Ukrainian defenders from their positions toward Novyi Shakhove, Novyi Donbas, Bilytske, Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Molodetske, Novopavlivka, and the areas of Novoekonomichne, Kotlyne, Udachne, and Dachne. Ukrainian forces repelled 21 attacks, while six engagements remain ongoing.

In the Oleksandrivka direction, Russian soldiers tried to breach Ukrainian defenses near Yalta, Sosnivka, Verbove, Zlahoda, Krasnohirsk, Pryvilne, and Solodke. Ukrainian forces repelled nine assaults.

In the Huliaipole direction, there were 13 combat engagements near Rybne, Dobropillia, Zelene, and Huliaipole, with five still ongoing.

In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy carried out two unsuccessful attacks toward Novoandriivka and Prymorske.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Russian attempts to approach Ukrainian positions near the Antonivskyi Bridge were unsuccessful.

In other directions, there were no significant changes.

Russian losses and fighting for Pokrovsk

From December 6 to 7, Russia lost another 1,080 soldiers on the front. Ukrainian forces also destroyed 33 artillery systems, 98 vehicles, and 540 drones.

Recent General Staff reports indicate that the highest number of battles continues to be recorded in the Pokrovsk direction.

Today, the Operation Task Force East stated that Ukrainian forces are carrying out search-and-assault operations and eliminating enemy forces in the urban area of Pokrovsk.
