Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of November 18

On the front, over the past 24 hours, as of the evening of November 18, there have been 150 clashes with the enemy. The most fighting was recorded in the Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka directions, according to the Ukrainian General Staff’s Telegram.
During this period, the Russian forces used almost 2,500 kamikaze drones against Ukrainian units. Today, the Russian army also carried out one missile strike and 33 airstrikes, and dropped 62 guided bombs. As for the number of attacks on our troops’ positions and settlements, the figure reaches up to 3,000.
On Tuesday, the General Staff recognized the soldiers of the 426th Separate Unmanned Systems Battalion, who effectively destroyed the enemy, inflicting significant losses in both personnel and equipment.
About the frontline situation:
In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, Ukrainian forces repelled two enemy assault attempts since the start of the day. In addition, the enemy carried out one airstrike, dropping four guided bombs, and conducted 145 attacks on our troops’ positions and settlements, including one using a multiple rocket launcher system.
On the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, the enemy launched six assaults on our units’ positions near Vovchansk, Kamianka, and toward the settlement of Kolodyazne. One battle is still ongoing.
In the Kupiansk direction, the Russian army carried out four offensive actions in the areas of Petropavlivka, Pishchane, and Kupiansk.
In the Lyman direction, Russian forces attacked the Defense Forces’ positions seven times in the areas of Korovyn Yar, Stavky, Drobysheve, Lyman, and toward Oleksandrivka. Three clashes are still ongoing.
In the Sloviansk direction, seven enemy assaults were recorded. The Russian army attempted to advance in the areas of Serebrianka, Yampil, and in the directions of Siversk and Zvanivka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy twice tried to break through the defense of our forces toward Bondarne and Virolubivka but were repelled.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, the Russians launched 19 attacks on Ukrainian positions in the areas of Shcherbynivka, Rusynyi Yar, and toward Kostiantynivka, Stepanivka, and Sofiivka. One battle is still ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, since the beginning of the day, the Russian forces have attempted 47 times to advance on Ukrainian positions. The enemy attacked in the areas of Shahove, Nove Shahove, Chervonyi Lyman, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Zvirove, Novoekonomichne, Novopavlivka, Rivne, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Filiya, and Dachne.
Fighting continues in four locations. Preliminary reports indicate that 68 Russian soldiers were neutralized today in this direction, including 45 permanently. Ukrainian forces also destroyed 15 drones, two motorcycles, 12 enemy personnel shelters, and an additional two motorcycles were struck.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, the enemy attempted 18 times to break through the defense of our forces in the areas of Zelenyi Hai, Sosnivka, Verbove, Oleksiivka, Pryvilne, Rivnopillia, Rybne, Pavlivka, and Krasnohirsk. Kolomiitse and Pokrovske were hit by airstrikes.
In the Huliaipole direction, the enemy attacked our defensive positions 17 times in the areas of Dobropillia, Zelenyi Hai, Zatyshshia, and Veselyi. Two clashes are still ongoing.
In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy launched an attack on our forces’ positions near Prymorske. Zaliznychne and Novoandriivka were hit by unguided aerial rockets.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the enemy made two unsuccessful attempts to approach our defensive positions. Prydniprovske came under an enemy airstrike.
Frontline situation
As of the morning of November 18, the General Staff reported Russian losses in the war. During this period, Russia lost nearly a thousand soldiers, as well as military equipment, including artillery systems, multiple rocket launchers, drones, and one air defense system.
Additionally, on November 16, the General Staff reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out search-and-strike operations near Pokrovsk, inflicting significant losses on the enemy.
