As of 10:00 p.m. Kyiv time on November 9, 248 combat engagements had been reported along the front since the start of the day. The highest number of clashes was again recorded in the Pokrovsk direction, according to a report from the Ukrainian General Staff.

Enemy attacks

On November 9, Russian forces carried out 27 airstrikes and dropped 81 guided bombs. In addition, they deployed 1,423 kamikaze drones and conducted 2,681 strikes on Ukrainian military positions and populated areas.

Situation on the fronts

In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, there were three combat engagements. The enemy carried out five airstrikes, dropping a total of 13 guided aerial bombs, and conducted 132 artillery strikes, including three using multiple launch rocket systems.

In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, the enemy launched 23 attacks in the areas of Vovchansk, Synelnykove, Tykyi, Kamianka, Bologivka, and toward Dvorichne. Four combat engagements are still ongoing.

In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy made six attempts to advance toward Petropavlivka and Pishchane. Two clashes are still ongoing.

In the Lyman direction, the Defense Forces repelled 20 assault actions in the areas of Boryvska Andriivka, Tverdokhlibove, Ridkodub, Derylove, Novoselivka, Torske, and in the directions of Chervonyi Stav, Stavky, Korovyn Yar, and Drobysheve.

In the Sloviansk direction, the enemy carried out 13 attacks in the areas of Yampil, Serebrianka, Dronivka, and Siversk, with two combat engagements still ongoing.

In the Kramatorsk direction, our troops repelled two enemy assaults in the area of Vasyukivka and in the direction of Minkivka.

In the Kostiantynivka direction, 27 combat engagements occurred today. The enemy attempted to storm Ukrainian positions near Oleksandro-Shultyne, Bila Hora, Shcherbynivka, Pleshchiivka, Rusyn Yar, and in the directions of Sofiivka and Illinivka.

In the Pokrovsk direction, since the start of the day, the enemy has launched 87 attacks in the areas of Shakhove, Nikanorivka, Bilytske, Zatyshok, Chervonyi Lyman, Rodynske, Zelene, Dachenke, Lysivka, Novomykolaivka, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Filia, Dache, and in the directions of Novo-Shakhove, Sofiivka, Rivne, and Novopavlivka. Our defenders are holding back the enemy’s advance, and in some locations, battles are still ongoing.

“Today on this front, preliminary reports indicate that 75 enemy combatants were neutralized, including 43 permanently. In addition, Ukrainian forces destroyed three motorcycles, one UAV, two ground robotic systems, six vehicles, and two specialized pieces of equipment. Three more enemy vehicles and two personnel shelters were also hit,” the report stated.

In the Oleksandrivka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 26 enemy attacks in the areas of Yalta, Ivanivka, Zelenyi Hai, Oleksandrohrad, Novoselivka, Sichneve, Orestopil, Stepove, Rybne, Zlahoda, Verbove, and in the direction of Andriivka-Klevtsove. Pokrovske, Radisne, and Nove Zaporizhzhia came under airstrikes.

In the Huliaipole direction, 12 combat engagements took place near Zelenyi Hai, Vesele, Solodke, Zlahoda, and in the directions of Yablukove and Rivnopillia. Dobropillia was targeted by an airstrike.

In the Orikhiv direction, eight clashes occurred since the start of the day - the Russian army attempted to advance near Mali Shcherbaky, Stepove toward Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, and Prymorske. The enemy carried out airstrikes on Lukianivske and Stepnohirsk.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the Defense Forces stopped an enemy advance attempt.

In other directions, no significant changes in the situation were reported.

On Sunday, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, reported that the intensity of fighting in Pokrovsk has decreased.

He emphasized, however, that this does not mean the Russian forces have abandoned their plans to capture the city. The commander also noted that the Ukrainian military has several contingency plans for all possible scenarios.
