Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of November 4

In total, 163 combat engagements were recorded on the front over the past day. A third of them took place in the Pokrovsk direction, where the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 55 assault actions by Russian forces, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
According to the General Staff, the enemy continues to employ aviation and drones actively. Over the past day, the Russian army carried out five missile strikes and 75 airstrikes, using 11 missiles and 147 guided aerial bombs.
In addition, the enemy conducted 4,574 shelling attacks, including 111 using multiple launch rocket systems, and deployed more than 6,400 kamikaze drones.
Airstrikes targeted the areas of the settlements of Kostiantynivka and Druzhkivka in the Donetsk region; Demuryne, Velykomykhailivka, Orestopil, and Oleksiivka in the Dnipropetrovsk region; Malynivka, Chervone, and Malokaterynivka in the Zaporizhzhia region; and Mykolaivka in the Kherson region.
Situation on the fronts
In the Northern Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, one combat engagement took place over the past day. The enemy carried out seven airstrikes, dropping 15 guided aerial bombs, and conducted 159 shelling attacks, including three using multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Southern Slobozhanskyi direction, the enemy attacked Ukrainian defenders' positions six times in the areas of Vovchansk, Kamianka, and Bologiivka.
In the Kupiansk direction, 14 combat engagements took place yesterday. Ukrainian defenders stopped enemy assault actions in the area of Petropavlivka and towards Pishchane, Novoosynove, and Kurylivka.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy launched 11 attacks, aiming to break through the defense in the areas of Myrne and Novoselivka, as well as towards Drobysheve, Stavky, and Korovii Yar.
In the Sloviansk direction, the Defense Forces stopped seven offensive actions by Russian forces near Serebrianka and Vyimka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy did not conduct offensive actions yesterday.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, the enemy carried out 17 attacks in the areas of Oleksandro-Shultyne, Pleshchiivka, Sofiivka, Ivanopillia, Shcherbynivka, and Rusyn Yar. One battle is still ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped 55 assault actions by the aggressor in the areas of Shakhove, Volodymyrivka, Ivanivka, Nykanorivka, Novoekonomichne, Fedorivka, Nove Shakhove, Myrnohrad, Rodynske, Razine, Chervonyi Lyman, Novopavlivka, Sukhyi Yar, Pokrovsk, Hryshyne, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, and Dachne.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, the enemy carried out 19 attacks yesterday in the areas of Sichneve, Vorone, Stepove, Oleksiivka, Verbove, Novovasylivske, Pavlivka, Tsehelne, Uspenivk, and Krasnohirske.
In the Huliaipole direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped eight enemy attempts to advance in the area of Okhotnyche.
In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian forces repelled two enemy attacks in the areas of Stepnohirsk and Stepove.
In the Prydniprovsk direction, Ukrainian units repelled two enemy assaults towards the Antonivka Road Bridge.
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, no signs of the formation of offensive enemy groups have been detected.
Enemy losses
Over the past day, the aviation, missile forces, and artillery of the Defense Forces struck four areas of concentration of enemy personnel, an air defense system, a UAV control point, and five enemy artillery systems.
In total, over the past day, Russian forces suffered 840 personnel losses.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine also destroyed five tanks, one armored combat vehicle, 42 artillery systems, one multiple launch rocket system, 425 uncrewed aerial vehicles, 93 vehicles, and one unit of special equipment of the enemy.
