Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of November 1

As of 10:00 PM Kyiv time on November 1, 131 combat engagements occurred along the front over the past 24 hours. The Pokrovsk direction remained the hottest, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.
Russian shelling
The General Staff said the enemy launched three missile strikes on Ukrainian positions and settlements, using three missiles. They also carried out 58 airstrikes with 106 guided bombs. Ukrainian forces recorded 3,159 strikes by kamikaze drones. The enemy conducted 2,790 artillery bombardments.
Frontline situation
In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, Ukrainian forces repelled five Russian assault actions. The enemy also launched three airstrikes, dropping nine guided bombs, and carried out 134 attacks on Ukrainian positions and settlements, including eight from multiple rocket launcher systems.
In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, Ukrainian troops repelled seven attacks near Vovchansk, Kamianka, and in the directions of Kolodiazne and Dvorichanske. Two combat engagements are still ongoing.
In the Kupiansk direction, the Russian army tried three times to push Ukrainian units from positions near Pishchane. Two combat engagements remain active.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy conducted five attacks, attempting to advance near Koroviy Yar, Zarichne, Stavky, and toward Lyman.
In the Sloviansk direction, Ukrainian forces repelled 11 attacks near Yampil, Dronivka, Serebrianka, Pereizne, Fedorivka, and Hryhorivka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy carried out no offensive actions since the start of the day.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, the Russian army attempted 18 times to breach Ukrainian defenses near Oleksandro-Shultyne, Pleshchiivka, Rusyn Yar, Sofiivka, and toward Kostiantynivka and Berestok. One combat engagement is still ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy carried out 49 assault and offensive actions near Shakhove, Myrnohrad, Chervonyi Lyman, Rodynske, Novoekonomichne, Dorozhne, Nikanorivka, Udachne, Mykolaivka, Kozatske, Lysivka, Sukhyi Yar, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Molodetske, Filiia, Dachne, and toward Pokrovsk and Hryshyne. Fighting is currently ongoing in four locations.
"Preliminary counts indicate that Ukrainian forces neutralized 84 enemy soldiers in this direction, 33 of them permanently. Four drones were destroyed, along with one vehicle and two pieces of specialized equipment. In addition, six enemy vehicles were damaged," the General Staff reported.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped 17 enemy attacks near Zelenyi Hai, Sichneve, Ternove, Verbove, Oleksiivka, Pavlivka, Pryvilne, Rybne, and toward Danylivka. Seven combat engagements are still ongoing.
In the Huliaipole direction, one combat engagement was recorded near Novomykolaivka. The settlements of Huliaipole, Nechaivka, and Malynivka came under airstrikes.
In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian forces repelled one enemy attack near Shcherbaky. Another combat engagement continues near Kamianske. Stepove suffered an airstrike with unguided rockets.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Ukrainian units repelled one enemy assault toward the Antonivskyi Bridge. The settlement of Olhivka was hit by an airstrike.
Russian losses in the war against Ukraine
From October 31 to November 1, Russian forces lost another 900 soldiers on the front. Ukrainian forces also destroyed nine artillery systems, 58 vehicles, and 349 units of enemy equipment.
Since the start of the full-scale war, the Russian army has lost more than 1.1 million personnel in battles against Ukraine.
