Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of October 31

Since the beginning of the day on October 31, there have been 137 combat clashes. Ukrainian defenders are resolutely repelling enemy attempts to advance deeper into our territory, inflicting fire damage on them, according to a report by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Telegram.
Throughout the day, Russian forces carried out 50 airstrikes, dropping 106 guided aerial bombs. In addition, they deployed 2,339 kamikaze drones and conducted 3,281 shelling attacks on the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and populated areas.
Northern and eastern directions
In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, Ukrainian soldiers have repelled nine enemy assault attempts since the beginning of the day. In addition, the enemy carried out 11 airstrikes, dropping 26 guided aerial bombs, and conducted 153 attacks on the positions of our forces and populated areas, six of which were carried out using multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, the enemy launched three assaults on the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Vovchansk and in the directions of Dvorichna and Kolodyazne.
In the Kupiansk direction, the Russian army advanced near Petropavlivka, Pishchane, and in the directions of Novoplatonivka and Novoosynove. Ukrainian defenders repelled nine enemy attacks.
In the Lyman direction, the Russian forces attacked the Defense Forces’ positions nine times near Torske, Karpivka, Derylove, and toward the settlements of Korovyi Yar and Lyman.
Central and southern sections of the front
Ukrainian defenders repelled ten assault actions in the Sloviansk direction — the Russian army attempted to advance in the areas of Yampol, Dronivka, Serebrianka, Pereizne, Siversk, and Vyimka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the Defense Forces repelled one enemy attack near Chasiv Yar.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, Russian troops launched 11 assaults on the positions of Ukrainian units in the areas of Shcherbynivka, Pleshchiivka, Toretsk, and toward Sofiivka. Our soldiers have already stopped 10 of these enemy attacks.
In the Pokrovsk direction, since the beginning of the day, the occupiers have made 46 attempts to advance on the positions of Ukrainian units. The enemy attacked in the areas of Nykonorivka, Rodynske, Chervonyi Lyman, Myrnohrad, Novoekonomichne, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Dachne, Lysivka, Novopavlivka, Pokrovsk, Zvirove, Novoukrainka, and toward Hryshyne.
"According to preliminary data, 104 enemy troops have been neutralized in this direction today, 55 of them irreversibly," the General Staff reported.
Ukrainian forces also destroyed one vehicle, three motorcycles, and ten UAVs; in addition, three vehicles, one UAV control point, and six shelters for enemy personnel were damaged.
Southern directions
In the Oleksandrivka direction, the enemy attempted 16 times to break through the defenses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the areas of Verbove, Pavlivka, Vyshneve, Zelenyi Hai, Sosnivka, Vorone, Stepove, Krasnohirskе, and toward the settlements of Orestopil, Rybne, and Oleksiivka. Pokrovske was hit by an airstrike.
In the Huliaipole direction, the enemy launched three attacks on the positions of Ukrainian defenders near Novomykolayivka and toward Novoie. Zaliznychne, Solodke, and Dorozhnyanka came under airstrikes.
In the Orikhiv direction, the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled an enemy assault near Novoandriivka. Lukyanivske and Novoyakovlivka were targeted by airstrikes.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the enemy made two attempts to approach our defenders but was repelled. An airstrike was carried out near Mykilske.
Russian losses
According to the General Staff, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has lost approximately 1,141,830 military personnel.
In particular, over the past day, Russian forces lost 970 soldiers. Ukrainian fighters also destroyed five tanks, five armored combat vehicles, 39 artillery systems, and other enemy equipment yesterday.
