Since the start of the day, there have been 108 combat engagements on the front. Ukrainian defenders are stopping the enemy, holding the lines, and disrupting Russia's plans, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
During the day, the enemy carried out artillery shelling from Russian territory on the areas of Novovasylivka, Vyntorivka, Bobylivka, Bila Bereza, Buniakyne, and Malushyne in the Sumy region; and Khrinivka, Arkhipivka, and Senkivka in the Chernihiv region.
Situation on the fronts
In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, Ukrainian defenders repelled one enemy attack. The enemy conducted six airstrikes, dropping 15 guided bombs, and carried out 76 shellings, including one with a multiple launch rocket system.
In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, the Defense Forces repelled seven enemy attacks, and one engagement is ongoing. The enemy is attacking near Vovchansk, Vovchanski Khutory, Zapadne, and toward Bolohivka and Kolodiazne. Kharkiv was hit by a KAB guided bomb.
In the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian troops are repelling enemy advances near Stepova Novoselivka, Pishchane, Nova Kruhliakivka, and toward Petropavlivka and Kurylivka. Two enemy attacks have been repelled so far, while five fights are ongoing.
In the Lyman direction, there have been 10 combat engagements near Kopanky, Karpivka, Serednie, Kolodiazi, Derylove, Myrne, and Novoselivka, with three clashes still ongoing.
In the Sloviansk direction, Russian forces tried five times to advance on Ukrainian positions near Serebrianka, Novoselivka, Vyimka, and Pereizne. The Defense Forces stopped all enemy attacks.
In the Kramatorsk direction, no combat engagements have been recorded so far.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, the Russian army attacked 20 times near Bila Hora, Oleksandro-Shultyne, Shcherbynivka, Pleshchiivka, and Rusyn Yar, with fights continuing in two locations. Kostiantynivka was hit by a KAB bomb.
In the Pokrovsk direction, there were 45 clashes of varying intensity near Nikanorivka, Maiak, Sukhetske, Rodynske, Chervonyi Lyman, Novoekonomichne, Mykolaivka, Promin, Lysivka, Pokrovsk, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Novomykolaivka, Kotliarivka, Horikhove, and Dachne. Four combat engagements are still ongoing.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, Russia tried six times to advance near Ivanivka, Filiia, Verbove, Novohryhorivka, and Novomykolaivka. Two combat engagements are ongoing. Russian aviation struck Rivnopillia, Solodke, and Malynivka with bombs.
In the Huliaipole direction, Ukrainian forces repelled an enemy attack near Poltavka.
In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy attempted five times to advance on Ukrainian units near Kamianske, Stepove, and toward Stepnohirsk and Mala Tokmachka.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the enemy has not carried out any offensive actions so far.
From October 20 to 21, the Russian army lost 1,130 soldiers and 202 pieces of military equipment on the front.
Ukrainian forces also destroyed eight tanks, 37 armored combat vehicles, 23 artillery systems, 235 drones, and 134 enemy vehicles.
