Russia's losses in Ukraine as of October 21: +1,130 troops and 23 artillery systems

Over the past 24 hours, from October 20 to 21, the Russian army lost 1,130 soldiers and 202 units of military equipment on the front, according to data from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The total estimated combat losses of the enemy from February 24, 2022, to October 21, 2025, are approximately:
- Personnel - about 1,132,200 (+1,130) Russian troops;
- Tanks - 11,278 (+8);
- Troop-carrying AFVs - 23,436 (+37);
- Artillery systems - 33,902 (+23);
- MLRS - 1,524;
- Anti-aircraft systems - 1,229;
- Aircraft - 428;
- Helicopters - 346;
- UAV operational-tactical level - 72,600 (+235);
- Cruise missiles - 3,864;
- Warships/boats - 28;
- Submarines - 1;
- Vehicles and fuel tanks - 65,026 (+134);
- Special equipment - 3,980.
Frontline situation and Russian strikes
Since the start of the previous day, there have been 174 combat engagements on the front, with the heaviest pressure from the enemy in the Pokrovsk direction.
During the night, the Russian army attacked Kharkiv with guided aerial bombs. Fifteen buildings were damaged in the city, and some residents were injured.
In addition, the aggressor launched strike drones throughout the night targeting Chernihiv and Sumy regions.
In Chernihiv, damage to an energy infrastructure facility has caused power and water outages.
