Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of October 12

In total, 203 combat engagements were recorded over the past day. Ukrainian forces inflicted significant losses on the occupying troops in both personnel and equipment, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Yesterday, the enemy carried out one missile strike and 82 airstrikes on Ukrainian positions and settlements, used one missile, and dropped 147 guided bombs.
In addition, the enemy conducted 4,476 artillery and gunfire attacks, including 133 with multiple launch rocket systems, and deployed 4,804 kamikaze drones.
Aggressor launched airstrikes, targeting areas of the settlements Veselyanka, Hryhorivka, and Prymorske in Zaporizhzhia region.
Situation on the fronts
In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, four combat engagements were recorded. The enemy carried out ten airstrikes, dropped a total of 23 guided bombs, and conducted 168 artillery strikes, including seven with multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, 23 combat engagements took place in the areas of Vovchansk, Odradne, Zapadne, Kutkivka, and in the directions of Obukhivka, Boholivka, Dvorichanske, and Kolodyazne.
In the Kupiansk direction, 15 attacks by the occupiers were recorded. Defense forces repelled enemy assault actions in the areas of Kupiansk, Petropavlivka, Bohuslavka, Nova Kruhliakivka, and Stepova Novoselivka.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked 14 times, attempting to advance in the areas of Shandryholove, Derylove, Kolodiazi, Kopanky, Karpivka, Serednie, Drobysheve, Torske, and in the direction of the settlement of Lyman.
In the Sloviansk direction, six attacks on positions of Ukrainian units were recorded in the areas of Yampil, Serebrianka, Vyiimka, and Dronivka.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, the enemy carried out 21 attacks in the areas of Oleksandro-Shultyne, Shcherbynivka, Pleshchiivka, Rusyn Yar, and Poltavka.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped 58 enemy offensive actions in the areas of Volodymyrivka, Novomykolaivka, Novopavlivka, Zatyshok, Boikivka, Fedorivka, Shakhove, Sukhetske, Myrnohrad, Chervonyi Lyman, Myroliubivka, Novoekonomichne, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, and Filiya, and in the direction of Pokrovsk.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, defense forces repelled 36 attacks on positions near Malynivka, Poltavka, Oleksandrohrad, Pavlivka, Zelenyi Hai, Sichneve, Sosnivka, Novohryhorivka, and in the direction of Orestopil.
In the Orikhiv direction, enemy forces attacked six times near Kamianske, Stepnohirsk, Stepove, and toward Prymorske.
No offensive actions were recorded yesterday in the Kramatorsk, Huliaipole, and Prydniprovskyi directions.
No signs of enemy offensive group formation were detected in the Volyn and Polissia directions.
Enemy losses
Over the past day, aviation, missile forces, and artillery of the Defense Forces struck two areas of personnel and equipment concentration, three command-and-observation posts, a UAV storage facility, and three other important enemy targets.
Overall, Russian occupiers suffered 1,240 casualties. Ukrainian forces also destroyed one tank, ten artillery systems, 244 operational-tactical drones, 87 vehicles, and three pieces of special enemy equipment.
