Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of September 27

As of 10:00 PM Kyiv time on September 27, 145 combat clashes occurred along the front over the past 24 hours, with the highest number of battles recorded in the Pokrovsk direction, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian shelling
Over the day, Russian forces carried out 55 airstrikes, dropping 99 guided bombs. They also deployed 2,230 kamikaze drones and conducted 3,389 attacks on Ukrainian military positions and populated areas.
Frontline situation
In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, Ukrainian troops repelled four Russian assault attempts since the start of the day, with one battle still ongoing. The enemy also carried out 17 airstrikes, dropping 44 guided bombs, and launched 169 shelling attacks, including 11 using multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian positions five times near Vovchansk, Krasne Pershe, and toward Doroshivka. Two clashes are ongoing.
In the Kupiansk direction, Russian units attempted six assaults, trying to break through Ukrainian defenses near Petropavlivka and toward Pishchane and Bohuslavka.
In the Lyman direction, Russian forces struck Ukrainian positions 15 times near Shandryholove, Kolodiazi, and Torske. Fighting continues in three locations.
In the Siversk direction, the enemy tried four times to advance near Serebrianka, Fedorivka, and toward Dronivka, with one clash still ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk direction, two combat engagements were recorded as Russian forces attempted to push toward Stupochky.
In the Toretsk direction, Russian troops attacked Ukrainian positions 14 times, concentrating their offensive near Oleksandro-Shultyne, Shcherbynivka, Pleshchiivka, Yablunivka, and Rusyn Yar.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian units attempted 40 breakthroughs near Volodymyrivka, Nikanorivka, Chervonyi Lyman, Sukhetske, Novoekonomichne, Mykolaivka, Lysivka, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, Novomykolaivka, Kotliarivka, and Dachne. Fighting continues in several locations.
“Defense Forces are holding off enemy assaults. The enemy is suffering heavy losses. Today, 154 occupiers were neutralized in this direction, 90 permanently. Our defenders destroyed three vehicles and 22 drones. Three artillery systems, one tank, and two electronic warfare units were heavily damaged. Ukrainian forces also struck ten enemy personnel shelters,” the General Staff said.
In the Novopavlivka direction, Ukrainian units stopped 16 Russian attacks near Sichneve, Piddubne, Novoselivka, Sosnivka, Maliivka, Novomykolaivka, Berezove, and Novohryhorivka, with one clash still ongoing.
In the Huliaipole direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled six enemy attempts to advance near Poltavka. Two clashes are ongoing.
In the Orikhiv direction, Russian forces tried six times to advance near Stepove, Kamianske, and toward Novodanylivka and Novoandriivka.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the enemy carried out one unsuccessful attack and suffered losses.
Russian army losses
In the past 24 hours, from September 26 to 27, Russia lost another 970 soldiers in battles against Ukraine. Ukrainian forces also destroyed 39 artillery systems, 362 drones, and 91 enemy vehicles.
Since the full-scale war began, Russian military losses have exceeded 1.1 million personnel.
