Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of September 22

Since the beginning of the day on September 22, there have been 143 combat engagements on the front line. Russian forces are attacking in almost all directions, with the heaviest fighting taking place near Pokrovsk, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the General Staff, the enemy launched two missile strikes on Ukrainian positions and populated areas, using three missiles, carried out 45 airstrikes, and dropped 98 guided bombs.
In addition, the enemy conducted 3,454 shelling attacks and deployed 2,185 kamikaze drones.
In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, Ukrainian defenders repelled nine enemy attacks. The enemy carried out six airstrikes, dropped 17 guided aerial bombs, and conducted 154 shelling attacks, including 10 with multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, Ukrainian units held back ten enemy attacks near Vovchansk, Vovchanski Khutory, Zapadne, and in the direction of Odradne and Kutkivka.
In the Kupiansk direction, our soldiers repelled four enemy attacks in the areas of Kupiansk and Pishchane.
In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian forces stopped 12 enemy assault actions near the settlements of Olhivka, Novoyehorivka, Hrekivka, Serednie, Kolodiazi, Stavky, Shandryholove, Novomykhailivka, Derylove, Torske, Zarychne, and in the direction of Stepove. Another five combat engagements are still ongoing.
In the Siversk direction, the enemy is attempting an advance in the area of Serebrianka, where fighting is currently ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk direction, our defenders repelled four enemy attempts to advance toward Stupochky.
In the Toretsk direction, the Russian army launched 16 assaults today on the positions of our defenders in the areas of Pleshchiivka, Berestok, Katerynivka, Kleban-Byk, Rusyn Yar, Shcherbynivka, Poltavka, and in the direction of Stepanivka. The Defense Forces are firmly holding their ground and repelling all enemy attacks.
Throughout the current day in the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy carried out 44 offensive actions. Russian occupier activity was recorded near the settlements of Nykonorivka, Zolotyi Kolodiaz, Rodynske, Chervonyi Lyman, Novoekonomichne, Myroliubivka, Promin, Myrnohrad, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, and Dachne. Four combat engagements are still ongoing.
Today, in this direction, according to preliminary data, 163 Russian soldiers were neutralized, 90 of them irreversibly. In addition, Ukrainian soldiers destroyed four vehicles, an ammunition depot, and 25 unmanned aerial vehicles.
Ukrainian forces also struck six artillery systems, five vehicles, one UAV control post, and 15 personnel shelters.
In the Novopavlivka direction, Ukrainian units repelled 19 attacks in the areas of Filiia, Sichneve, Shevchenko, Sosnivka, Novoivanivka, Ternove, Myrne, Berezove, Novohrhorivka, and Novomykolaivka. Another four combat engagements are still ongoing.
In the Huliaipole direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled one enemy attack near Poltavka. The settlement of Zaliznychne came under an airstrike.
In the Orikhiv and Prydniprovskyi directions, the enemy did not conduct offensive actions but carried out airstrikes on Zaporizhzhia and the settlements of Lvove and Mykolaivka in the Kherson region.
Russia’s losses in the war
According to the General Staff, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has lost approximately 1,102,570 personnel.
In particular, over the past day, Russian army losses amounted to 960 soldiers. Ukrainian fighters also destroyed 1 tank, 1 armored combat vehicle, 47 artillery systems, 3 helicopters, 403 drones, and other enemy equipment yesterday.
