Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of September 14

As of 4:00 PM Kyiv time on September 14, 114 battles have occurred on the front since the start of the day. Nearly a third of them took place in the Pokrovsk direction, where Ukrainian forces have repelled almost all Russian attacks, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian shelling
Today, Russian artillery strikes hit the border regions of Ukraine. Affected settlements included:
- Sytne, Malushyne, Rudenka, Sosnivka, Chuikivka, Korenok, Bachivsk, Novovasylivka, and Brusky in the Sumy region
- Mykhalchyna Sloboda and Khrinivka in the Chernihiv region.
Frontline situation
In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, Russian forces carried out five offensive actions. One engagement is ongoing. Russian aviation launched seven airstrikes, dropping 15 guided bombs. The enemy also conducted 110 artillery strikes, including one from multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, Ukrainian forces repelled four assaults near Vovchansk and in the direction of Odradne. Three battles are still ongoing.
In the Kupiansk direction, Russian forces launched two attacks near Kupiansk and Stepova Novoselivka.
In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian units repelled three attacks toward Stavky and near Shandryholove, Derylove, Kolodyazi, and Torske. Five battles remain underway.
In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian troops repelled seven attacks. Russian units attempted to advance near Hryhorivka, Dronivka, Vyimka, and Fedorivka. Five engagements are still ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk direction, five clashes occurred near Stupochky and Oleksandro-Shultyne. Two of these battles continue.
In the Toretsk direction, Russian forces launched five assaults on Ukrainian positions near Pleshchiyivka, Katerynivka, and Stepanivka. Ukrainian units repelled three attacks. Two battles are ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces conducted 35 attacks on Ukrainian positions since the start of the day. Targets included Fedorivka, Nikanorivka, Myrnohrad, Rodynske, Sukhetske, Promin, Lysivka, Udachne, Novopidhorodne, Molodetske, Novoukrainka, Filiia, Dachne, Novoivanivka, and toward Novopavlivka. Ukrainian defenders have already repelled 29 attacks. Fighting continues.
In the Novopavlivka direction, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian positions 15 times near Maliivka, Tolstyi, Oleksandrohrad, Ternove, Berezove, Temyrivka, Komyshuvakha, and Olhivske. Two clashes are ongoing.
In the Huliaipole direction, Ukrainian forces successfully repelled an attack near Poltavka. Russian airstrikes hit Bilohirya and Zaliznychne.
In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy advanced twice near Novoandriivka and Stepnohirsk.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled five assaults. Russian aviation struck Olhivka with unguided rockets.
Russian losses
Between September 13 and 14, Russian forces lost an additional 880 soldiers in battles against Ukraine. Ukrainian forces also destroyed 42 artillery systems, 261 drones, and 102 vehicles.
Since the start of the full-scale war, the Russian army's losses have nearly reached 1.1 million personnel.
