Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of September 12

Over the course of September 12, there were 168 combat engagements on the front, with the most occurring in the Pokrovsk direction, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian army attacks
Russian forces carried out one missile strike and 57 airstrikes, launched three rockets, dropped 88 guided aerial bombs, deployed 2,236 kamikaze drones, and shelled Ukrainian positions and settlements 3,593 times.
Frontline situation
In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, there were two attacks by Russian troops. Today, the enemy carried out one missile strike and 11 airstrikes, used three rockets and dropped 19 guided aerial bombs, and conducted 102 shellings, including two with multiple rocket launcher systems.
In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, 14 combat engagements took place in the areas of Vovchansk, Ambarne, and toward Odradne and Kutkivka.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy carried out seven attacks on Ukrainian positions. Fighting occurred in the area of Holubivka and toward Pishchane and Nova Kruhliakivka.
In the Lyman direction, Russian forces launched 13 assaults on Ukrainian defenders’ positions in the area of Kolodiazy and toward the settlements of Shandryholove and Stavky.
In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 16 out of 18 enemy attempts to advance on their positions. Russian units tried to move forward in the areas of Serebrianka, Hryhorivka, and toward the settlements of Yampil, Dronivka, and Vyimka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the Defense Forces stopped five enemy attacks in the area of Orikhovo-Vasylivka and toward Stupochky.
In the Toretsk direction, the Russian army launched 12 assaults today on Ukrainian positions in the areas of Shcherbynivka, Katerynivka, Oleksandro-Kalyneve, and toward Pleshchiivka, Stepanivka, and Poltavka. The Defense Forces repelled the enemy’s attacks and have already stopped 11 assault actions.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy made 37 attempts to push back Ukrainian units. The highest activity was observed in the areas of Volodymyrivka, Shakhove, Mayak, Zatyshok, Novoekonomichne, Mykolaivka, Myroliubivka, Udachne, Muravka, Dachne, Novoukrainka, and toward the settlements of Myrnohrad, Promin, Sukhy Yar, Pokrovsk, Zvirove, Molodetske, Novopidhorodne, and Filiya.
Preliminary estimates indicate that in this direction, Ukrainian soldiers eliminated 99 and wounded 60 enemy personnel, destroyed two tanks, three vehicles, four motorcycles, 15 drones, an ammunition depot, and damaged a vehicle, two artillery pieces, a UAV control point, and seven enemy personnel shelters.
In the Novopavlivka direction, the enemy attempted to break through 10 times near the settlements of Vorone, Maliivka, Ternove, Novomykolaivka, Olhivske, and toward Filiia and Ivanivka.
In the Huliaipole direction, the enemy did not conduct offensive actions but carried out airstrikes on the settlements of Bilohirya and Zaliznychne.
In the Orikhiv direction, the invading forces attacked twice toward Mala Tokmachka and Novodanylivka. The Russian aviation struck the areas of Novoyakivlivka and Veselyanka.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the enemy carried out two unsuccessful attacks on Ukrainian defenders’ positions, while also conducting an airstrike near the settlement of Lvove.
Russian army losses
From September 11 to 12, Russian forces lost an additional 890 soldiers on the front. The Armed Forces of Ukraine also destroyed 40 artillery systems and 64 vehicles.
Since the beginning of the full-scale war, the Russian army's losses have exceeded 1.1 million personnel.
