Over the past day, the Russian troops have used hundreds of bombs and missiles and carried out thousands of shellings, but have been unable to advance, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Over the past day, 190 battles were recorded on the front line. Russian troops launched one missile and 67 air strikes with a missile and dropped 117 guided aerial bombs.

In addition, Russian troops carried out 5,780 shellings, including 74 from multiple launch rocket systems, and attacked with 5,780 kamikaze drones.

Air strikes on populated areas were carried out in:

  • Sumy region - Velyka Bereza, Seredyna-Buda;
  • Donetsk region - Bilytske;
  • Dnipropetrovsk region - Havrylivka;
  • Zaporizhzhia region - Uspenivka, Omelnyk;
  • Kherson region - Odradokamianka.

The Ukrainian Air Force, missile forces, and artillery struck the area where Russian troops and equipment were concentrated, 2 artillery systems, 2 drone control points, and another important Russian target.

Situation on front

Ukrainian soldiers repelled 4 Russian attacks in the North-Slobozhansky and Kursk directions. Here, Russia carried out 14 air strikes, dropped 29 guided bombs, and carried out 249 shellings, 6 of which were from rocket systems.

In the South-Slobozhanskyi direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped 10 Russian attacks in the areas of Vovchansk, Hlyboke, Fyholivka, Zapadne, and Krasne Pershe.

Russians carried out 10 attacks in the Kupiansk direction. Fighting continued near Synkivka, Stepova Novoselivka, in the direction of Novoplatonivka and Petropavlivka.

In the Lyman direction, 29 Russian attacks were recorded. Russia attempted to break through the defenses near Shandryholove, Kolodiazi, Karpivka, as well as in the direction of Dronivka, Serebrianka, Yampil, and Hryhorivka.

In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 11 Russian attacks near Hryhorivka and Pereizne.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Russia launched 5 attacks in the area of Bila Hora and Predtechyno.

In the Toretsk direction, Russian troops attacked 9 times in the areas of Toretsk, Dyliivka, and Poltavka.

The most Russian attacks took place in the Pokrovsk direction, 64 per day. Fighting took place near Volodymyrivka, Maiak, Fedorivka, Nykanorivka, Nove Shakhove, Novoekonomichne, Myroliubivka, Sukhetske, Promin, Sukhyi Yar, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, Horikhove, and Dachne.

In the Novopavlivka direction, Russia carried out 25 attacks near the settlements of Filia, Yalta, Tovste, Oleksandrohrad, Maliivka, Voskresenka, and Komyshuvakha.

No combat clashes were recorded in the Huliaipole direction.

In the Orikhiv direction, Russia attacked once, trying to advance near Kamianske.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 5 Russian attacks.

In the Volyn and Polissia directions, no signs of the formation of Russian offensive groups were detected.

Over the past day, Ukrainian defenders destroyed about 850 Russian troops on the battlefield and inflicted losses on their equipment. They also destroyed 4 Russian tanks, 17 armored combat vehicles, 49 artillery systems, one helicopter, 94 vehicles, and 214 drones.

According to the Institute for the Study of War, the Russian army is trying to break through the front lines in the Sumy, Kupiansk, Pokrovsk, and Zaporizhzhia directions, but without success.

Meanwhile, on August 31, military exercises of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) began in Belarus, where they plan to practice the use of nuclear weapons.
