Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of August 30

As of 4:00 PM Kyiv time on June 30, there were 104 combat engagements on the front over the past 24 hours. Almost half of them occurred in the Pokrovsk direction, where Ukrainian forces continue to hold back the enemy, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian shelling
Today, border settlements were hit by fire from the territory of Russia, including:
- Malushyne, Velyka Berizka, Novovasylivka, Sytne, Prohres, Tovstodubove in the Sumy region;
- Liskivshchyna, Hremiach, Leonivka, Arkhipivka, and Khrinivka in the Chernihiv region.
Frontline situation
In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, Ukrainian defenders repelled five Russian attacks. Four combat engagements are still ongoing. Since the start of the day, the enemy carried out three airstrikes, dropped a total of 10 guided bombs, and conducted 94 artillery strikes, including one using multiple-launch rocket systems.
In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, Ukrainian forces repelled four attacks. A Russian assault continues near the settlements of Vovchansk and Kamianka.
In the Kupiansk direction, Russian forces launched six assault actions near Petropavlivka and Kupiansk. Three combat engagements remain active.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy launched 15 attacks near Novyi Myr, Kolodiazi, and Dibrova, as well as in the directions of Shandryholove and Dronivka. Five combat engagements are ongoing.
In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian forces repelled one attack. Russian units attempted to advance near Serebrianka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, Russian forces did not conduct any offensive actions today.
In the Toretsk direction, Ukrainian troops stopped five enemy attacks near Pleshchiivka, Rusyn Yar, and Poltavka.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the Russian army attempted 38 times to push back Ukrainian defenders from their positions near Shakhove, Sukhetske, Nikanorivka, Volodymyrivka, Novoekonomichne, Myroliubivka, Chervonyi Lyman, Promin, Lysivka, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, and Novoukrainka, as well as in the direction of Pokrovsk and Zolotyi Kolodiaz. Ukrainian forces are holding the line and have already stopped 33 attacks.
In the Novopavlivka direction, Russians attacked 11 times near Oleksandrohrad, Maliivka, Shevchenko, and Zelene Pole, moving toward Novoselivka and Komyshuvakha. Four combat engagements continue.
In the Huliaipole and Prydniprovskyi directions, the enemy conducted no offensive actions, though they carried out an airstrike on the settlement of Bilohirya.
In the Orikhiv direction, Russian forces attacked three times, attempting to advance near Kamianske. One combat engagement remains ongoing.
In other directions, the situation has remained largely unchanged.
Russian army losses
From August 29 to 30, Russian forces lost 850 soldiers in battles against Ukraine. Ukrainian troops also destroyed 316 drones and nearly 50 artillery systems.
Since the start of the full-scale war, the Russian army's losses have reached nearly 1.1 million personnel.
