Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of August 20

Since the beginning of August 20, 128 combat clashes have taken place along the frontline. Ukrainian defenders continue to repel Russian attempts to advance deeper into Ukrainian territory, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian forces carried out two missile strikes (five missiles were used) and 43 airstrikes, dropping 69 guided bombs. They also launched 1,763 kamikaze drones and conducted 3,892 shelling attacks on Ukrainian positions and settlements.
In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, four clashes were recorded. The enemy carried out 13 airstrikes, dropped 29 guided bombs, and fired 198 times, including 15 attacks with MLRS.
In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, Russian troops launched nine assaults near Vovchansk, Ambarne, Fiholivka, and towards Khatnie and Katerynivka.
In the Kupiansk direction, two offensive attempts were recorded near Holubivka and towards Kupiansk.
In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian forces repelled 24 assaults near Karpivka, Ridkodub, Kolodiazi, Myrne, Torske, and towards Olhivka, Shandryholove, Yampil, Dronivka, and Hryhorivka. Four more battles are ongoing.
In the Siversk direction, Russian forces attacked five times near Hryhorivka, Pereizne, and towards Vyimka and Fedorivka. All attacks were repelled. In the Kramatorsk direction, one assault was stopped near Stupochky.
In the Toretsk direction, 10 clashes occurred as Russian troops attacked near Toretsk, Yablunivka, Shcherbynivka, and towards Stepanivka, Poltavka, and Popovyi Yar. One battle is still ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces launched 36 attacks near Volodymyrivka, Nikanorivka, Fedorivka, Novoekonomichne, Myroliubivka, Lysivka, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, Orikhove, Novoukrainka, Dachne, and towards Bilytske, Rodynske, and Myrnohrad. Preliminary reports indicate 112 Russian troops were neutralized (67 of them irreversibly), along with the destruction of one vehicle, four motorcycles, six drones, and a UAV command post. Three artillery systems and 10 personnel shelters were damaged.
In the Novopavlivka direction, 18 attacks were repelled near Tolstoye, Shevchenko, Vilne Pole, Voskresenka, Zelene Pole, and towards Filiia, Komyshuvakha, Sichneve, and Novohrhorivka; three clashes are ongoing.
In the Orikhiv direction, one attack was stopped towards Prymorske. In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Russian forces tried to advance three times but were pushed back.
Russian losses in the war
Over the past day, from August 19 to 20, Russian forces lost another 920 soldiers on the front. In addition, Ukrainian forces destroyed a tank, four armored vehicles, as well as multiple artillery systems, drones, and Russian military vehicles.
