Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of August 14

Since the beginning of August 14, there have been 67 combat engagements on the front. The situation in the Pokrovsk direction is stabilizing, with Ukrainian defenders detecting and destroying enemy forces, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, the enemy attempted offensive actions twice; currently, clashes are ongoing. Enemy aviation carried out two airstrikes, dropping a total of four guided bombs. In addition, the enemy conducted 115 shellings, including two with multiple launch rocket systems. Active operations by our units continue, with certain successes reported in specific areas.
In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, Ukrainian forces repelled an enemy assault near Hlyboke.
Since the beginning of the day, the enemy attacked three times in the Kupiansk direction, in the areas of the settlements of Kupiansk, Holubivka, and Zahryzove.
In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian units repelled seven attacks in the areas of the settlements of Ridkodub, Hrekivka, Myrne, Shandryholove, Kolodiazi. Three attacks are still ongoing.
In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian forces repelled one enemy attack. Russian units attempted to advance in the area of Hryhorivka.
In the Toretsk direction, Russian troops twice attempted to advance on the positions of our defenders in the areas of Toretsk and Oleksandra-Kalyneve. Ukrainian units repelled one attack, while another engagement is ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, since the beginning of the day, the Russian army carried out 37 attacks on the positions of our defenders in the areas of Popiv Yar, Zolotyi Kolodiaz, Nikanorivka, Maiak, Volodymyrivka, Shakhove, Rubizhne, Vilne, Novoekonomichne, Myroliubivka, Mykolaivka, Rodynske, Chervonyi Lyman, Promin, Lysivka, Sukhy Yar, Pokrovsk, Zvirove, Udachne, and Novoukrainka.
While repelling the enemy’s pressure, Ukrainian defenders have already repelled 34 attacks; fighting continues.
The situation in this direction is stabilizing. The Defense Forces are taking all necessary measures to detect and eliminate groups of Russian forces that infiltrated the rear areas of our defenses the previous day. For example, over the past 24 hours, servicemen of one of our mechanized brigades captured five invaders.
In the Novopavlivka direction, Russia launched nine attacks on Ukrainian positions near the settlements of Tolstoi, Oleksandrohrad, Maliivka, and in the directions of Filiia and Zaporizke. One engagement is still ongoing.
In the Orikhiv direction, enemy aviation struck Novodanylivka with unguided air missiles.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled five enemy assault actions. Lviv was hit by an airstrike.
In the Kramatorsk, Huliaipole, and Orikhiv directions, no clashes have been recorded at this time.
Situation in the Pokrovsk direction
Recently, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that Russian forces are preparing offensive actions in three directions – Zaporizke, Pokrovsk, and Novopavlivka. Troops will be redeployed to these areas from other directions.
Earlier, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that the Ukrainian Defense Forces are taking effective measures to stop the advance of Russian troops in the Dobropillia and Pokrovsk directions.
Additionally, information emerged the previous day about active Russian advances near Dobropillia. The Donetsk Operational-Tactical Group reported that Russia is using tactics "unpleasant" for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but they are not gaining control over the territory.
