Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of July 24

As of 10:00 p.m. Kyiv time on July 24, there were 130 combat engagements on the front lines. The heaviest fighting took place in the Pokrovsk direction, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Enemy attacks
The General Staff noted that the Russian forces carried out one missile strike and 54 airstrikes, launched four missiles, and dropped 91 guided bombs. In addition, the Russians used 1,156 kamikaze drones for attacks and carried out 3,821 shellings of Ukrainian military positions and populated areas.
Frontline situation
In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, Ukrainian forces have repelled 15 enemy attacks since the beginning of the day. The enemy also carried out six airstrikes, using seven guided aerial bombs, and conducted 190 shellings, five of which involved multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, the enemy launched five assaults on Ukrainian positions near the settlements of Vovchansk, Petro-Ivanivka, and Kamianske - all enemy attacks were repelled.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy carried out four attacks on Ukrainian defensive positions near Stepova Novoselivka, Zahryzove, Zelenyi Hai, and toward the area of Velyka Shapkivka.
In the Lyman direction, since the beginning of the day, Russian invaders have attacked 17 times near the settlements of Hrekivka, Novyi Myr, Yampolivka, Torske, and toward the settlements of Dronivka, Shandryholove, Cherneshchyna, and Serednie. One combat engagement is still ongoing.
In the Siversk direction, a battle is ongoing near Hryhorivka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, one enemy attack was repelled in the area of Bila Hora.
In the Toretsk direction, Russian forces launched four attacks on the positions of the Defense Forces. The enemy’s main efforts are concentrated near Toretsk, Rusyn Yar, and in the directions of Oleksandro-Shultyne and Katerynivka. One combat engagement is currently ongoing.
Since the beginning of the day in the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces have attempted to break through Ukrainian defenses 43 times in the areas of Rusyn Yar, Myrne, Myrnohrad, Novoekonomichne, Lysivka, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, Dachne, as well as toward the settlements of Volodymyrivka and Pokrovsk. Two combat engagements are currently ongoing.
The Defense Forces are holding back the enemy assaults, and the enemy is suffering heavy losses - today, 67 occupiers were neutralized in this direction, 49 of whom were killed.
In the Novopavlivka direction, Ukrainian units repelled 14 enemy assaults near the settlements of Piddubne, Maliivka, and Voskresenka - toward the areas of Temyrivka and Oleksandrohrod. Four more battles are currently ongoing.
In the Huliaipole direction, the area around the settlement of Zaliznychne was shelled with unguided rockets. No offensive actions by the enemy were recorded.
In the Orikhiv direction, the Russian army made one unsuccessful attempt to advance in the area of Stepnohirsk.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the enemy attacked Defense Forces positions five times and also carried out an airstrike on the settlements of Kherson and Mykolaivka.
No significant changes in the situation were observed in other directions.
Russian army losses
It should be recalled that for July 23 to 24, the Russian forces lost another 1,050 soldiers in battles against Ukraine. In addition, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 24 artillery systems, 86 drones, and 96 vehicles.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the total losses of the Russian army have exceeded 1 million personnel.
