Since the beginning of the day on July 23, there have been 124 combat engagements on the front line. Russian forces are concentrating their attacks primarily in the Pokrovsk direction, according to the General Staff’s update.

Since the start of the day, the enemy has carried out 47 airstrikes, dropped 70 guided aerial bombs (KABs), launched 1,174 kamikaze drones, and conducted 4,237 shellings targeting populated areas and positions of Ukrainian forces.

Frontline situation

In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, Ukrainian forces repelled 12 enemy assaults. The enemy carried out six airstrikes, using 13 guided aerial bombs, and conducted 324 shellings - five of which involved multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS).

In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, the enemy attempted to assault Ukrainian positions six times near the settlements of Vovchansk, Kamianka, and Dvorichna. Three combat engagements are still ongoing.

In the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled six attacks in the areas of Stepova Novoselivka, Boryvska Andriivka, Zahryzove, and Novoplatonivka. Two engagements are still underway.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian forces halted 13 enemy attacks near the settlements of Hrekivka, Zelenyi Hai, Serednie, Shandryholove, Dronivka, Karpivka, Kolodiazi, Shypylivka, and toward Druzheliubivka. Seven more clashes are ongoing.

In the Siversk direction, the enemy made three attempts to advance near Hryhorivka. One combat engagement is ongoing.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped two enemy attempts to push forward near Stupochky and Bila Hora.

In the Toretsk direction, the Russian army launched two assaults on Ukrainian positions near Toretsk. The defense forces repelled one enemy attack, and one battle is still ongoing.

In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy launched 36 attacks. The Russian army attempted to advance near the settlements of Popiv Yar, Myroliubivka, Zatyshok, Lysivka, Myrnohrad, Zvirove, Udachne, Oleksiivka, Novoukrainka, Maiak, Novoekonomichne, Kotlyne, Dachne, and in the directions of Pankivka, Volodymyrivka, and Sukhetske. Four combat engagements are ongoing.

“According to preliminary estimates, our soldiers eliminated 120 enemy combatants and wounded 91 today in this direction. They destroyed three vehicles, three motorcycles, one artillery gun, 12 drones, and two enemy drone control antennas. Additionally, one vehicle, five artillery guns, five drone control antennas, and two satellite communication terminals of the Russian forces were significantly damaged,” the General Staff reported.

In the Novopavlivka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled nine enemy attacks near the settlements of Zaporizhzhia, Zirka, Piddubne, Oleksandrohrad, Shevchenko, Maliivka, Voskresenka, and Vilne Pole. Three combat engagements are ongoing.

In the Huliaipole and Orikhiv directions, the enemy did not conduct any offensive actions but carried out an airstrike on Mala Tokmachka.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, eight enemy attempts to advance on Ukrainian positions were unsuccessful.

Russian losses in the war as of July 23

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russian forces lost 970 personnel over the past day.

Ukrainian defenders destroyed three tanks, two armored fighting vehicles, 42 artillery systems, one MLRS unit, 115 unmanned aerial vehicles, and 88 units of enemy automotive equipment.
