Over the past 24 hours, from July 22 to 23, the Russian army lost 970 soldiers on the front line, as well as tanks, an MLRS, and 42 artillery systems, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.

The total combat losses of the enemy from February 24, 2022, to July 23, 2025, are approximately:

  • personnel - about 1 045 220 (+970) Russian troops were eliminated;
  • tanks - 11 041 (+3);
  • troop-carrying AFVs - 23 037 (+2);
  • artillery systems - 30 722 (+42);
  • MLRS - 1,446 (+1);
  • anti-aircraft systems - 1,199;
  • aircraft - 421;
  • helicopters - 340;
  • UAV operational-tactical level - 47 552 (+115);
  • cruise missiles - 3,533 (+18);
  • warships/boats - 28;
  • submarines - 1;
  • vehicles and fuel tanks - 56 041 (+88);
  • special equipment - 3,935.

Frontline update on July 23

Earlier, the General Staff reported that 131 combat engagements took place over the past day. The Armed Forces of Ukraine continued to fight against Russian forces along the entire front line.

Russian forces launched more than 4,000 strikes, using aircraft, kamikaze drones, and guided bombs.

According to the latest ISW report, Russian troops advanced in the north of Sumy region, in the Pokrovsk direction, and toward Lyman.
