Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of July 23

Over the last day, 167 combat engagements were registered at the frontline. The largest number of them took place in the Pokrovsk sector, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
On July 22, Russia carried out 1 missile and 167 air strikes, using 1 missile and 113 guided bombs. Russia also conducted 5,686 attacks, including 39 from multiple launch rocket systems, and used 3,579 kamikaze drones.
Russian air strikes were recorded, in particular, on the settlements of Yastrubyne, Hrafske (Sumy region), Kramatorsk (Donetsk region), Kamianske, and Novoandriivka (Zaporizhzhia).
In response, the aviation, missile troops, and artillery of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck 13 areas of concentration of Russian manpower and equipment, as well as an artillery unit, a command center, and 2 electronic warfare facilities.
Directions
North-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions. Ukrainian forces repelled 11 Russian attacks. The Russians launched 15 air strikes, used 28 MRLS and fired 293 times, including 3 times from MLRS.
South-Slobozhanskyi direction. Russia conducted an attempt to break through in the area of Zakhidne.
Kupiansk direction. Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 4 Russian attacks in the areas of Holubivka, Stepova Novoselivka, and Zahryzove.
Lyman sector. Russia attacked 21 times in the areas of Hrekivka, Kolodiazi, Zelena Dolyna, Myrne, Yampolivka, Torske, and in the direction of Serebrianka.
Siversk direction. Russians tried to break through 4 times near Hryhorivka.
Kramatorsk direction. One battle was registered near Chasiv Yar.
Toretsk sector. Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 13 Russian attacks in the areas of Dyliyivka, Toretsk, Oleksandr-Kalynove, and Rusyn Yar.
Pokrovsk direction. It is the most intense section of the frontline: 74 assault operations near Poltavka, Novotoretske, Novoekonomichne, Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Novoukrainka, Zvirove, Udachne, Zelenyi Kut, Dachne, and Oleksiivka.
Novopavlivka direction. Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 9 Russian attacks near Voskresenka, Yalta, Piddubne, and Zelenyi Pole.
Prydniprovskyi direction. Russia conducted 7 attacks on the positions of Ukrainian units.
Orikhiv and Huliaipole directions. No combat engagements were registered.
Volyn and Polissia directions. No signs of the formation of Russian offensive groups were detected.
Russia's losses in war against Ukraine
Over the past day, Russian losses amounted to 970 troops.
Ukrainian soldiers also neutralized 3 Russian tanks, 2 armored combat vehicles, 42 artillery systems, a multiple launch rocket system, 115 unmanned aerial vehicles, and 88 units of Russian vehicles.
