As of 4:00 PM Kyiv time on June 28, there had been 71 combat clashes along the front line. The largest number of battles was reported in the Pokrovsk direction, informs the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Enemy shelling

The General Staff noted that Russian forces continue to shell border settlements. Today, Russian artillery fire hit the towns and villages of Myropilske, Pokrovka, Ulanove, Slavgorod, Petrushivka, Studenok, Hirky, Bratenytsia, and Kucherivka in the Sumy region.

Frontline situation

In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces launched 29 attacks today on Ukrainian positions near the settlements of Popiv Yar, Myrne, Myroliubivka, Malynivka, Koptieve, Promin, Lysivka, Udachne, Kotliarivka, Orikhove, and Oleksiivka. Fighting is ongoing in three locations.

In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, six clashes occurred since the beginning of the day, with one still ongoing. Russian forces also launched six airstrikes, dropping 11 guided bombs. In total, they carried out 202 attacks on Ukrainian positions and settlements, including six strikes using multiple launch rocket systems.

In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, Russian units carried out six assaults on Ukrainian positions near Vovchansk and Stroivka. Two of the clashes are still ongoing. Russian aircraft struck the village of Vilkhuvatka with guided bombs.

In the Kupiansk direction, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian positions four times near Holubivka, Stepova Novoselivka, and Zelenyi Hai. Two clashes are still underway.

In the Lyman direction, Russian forces launched 10 assaults today near the settlements of Nadiia, Novoyehorivka, Ridkodub, Zelena Dolyna, Yampolivka, Torske, and toward Serebrianka and Hryhorivka. Two battles are still ongoing.

In the Siversk direction, the enemy attempted five advances near Hryhorivka. All Russian assaults were repelled.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian forces repelled two Russian attempts to advance toward Bila Hora.

In the Toretsk direction, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian positions four times near Kurdiumivka, Toretsk, Leonidivka, and toward Yablunivka. One clash is ongoing.

In the Novopavlivka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled four Russian attacks near the settlements of Yalta, Zaporizhzhia, Dniproenerhiia, and Shevchenko. Two battles are still ongoing.

In the Huliaipole direction, Zaliznychne and Bilohiria were hit by unguided rockets.

In the Orikhiv direction, Russian airstrikes targeted Kamianske and Orikhiv.

In the Huliaipole, Orikhiv, and Prydniprovskyi directions, no clashes have been recorded so far today.

Russian losses in the war in Ukraine

As reported earlier, between June 27 and June 28, Russian forces lost another 1,000 soldiers in battles against Ukraine. Ukrainian forces also destroyed four aircraft, 35 artillery systems, and more than 200 drones.

Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Russian military losses have exceeded 1 million personnel.
