Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of June 23

Since the beginning of the day, there have been 74 combat engagements along the entire frontline. Ukrainian forces are wearing down the enemy both along the entire line of contact and in the rear, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the General Staff, the enemy launched artillery strikes from Russian territory on the areas of the following settlements:
- Prokhody, Petrushivka, Pokrovka in the Sumy region;
- Liskivshchyna in the Chernihiv region.
Situation on the fronts

In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, the enemy carried out one airstrike, using four guided bombs, and conducted 131 shellings, four of which were from multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS).

In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, the enemy is conducting an attack on the Defense Forces’ positions near the settlement of Dvorichna; the combat engagement is ongoing.

In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy attempted once during the day to advance towards our positions in the area of Pishchane. The Defense Forces successfully repelled the enemy attack.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled nine offensive actions of the invading army in the areas of Tverdokhlibove, Ridkodub, Karpivka, Kolodiazi settlements, and in the directions of Hrekivka, Zelena Dolyna, Novyi Myr, and Olhivka. Six combat engagements are still ongoing.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy attacked the Defense Forces’ positions five times in the areas of Novomarkove and the directions of Mykolaivka and Stupochky.

In the Toretsk direction, the invaders advanced 13 times towards our units’ positions in the areas of Dyliivka, Shcherbynivka, Petrivka, Yablunivka, Rusyn Yar, and in the directions of Pleshchiivka and Yablunivka. Fighting continues in three locations.

In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy attempted 24 times throughout the day to advance towards our positions near Promin, Novotoretske, Myroliubivka, Lysivka, Novoukrainka, Novoserhiivka, Udachne, Oleksiivka settlements, and in the directions of Shakhove, Volodymyrivka, Molodetske, and Novopavlivka. Five engagements are ongoing. Airstrikes hit the areas of Poltavka, Malynivka, Novotoretske, Razine, and Pokrovsk.

In the Novopavlivka direction, the aggressor attacked 11 times with air support in the areas of Bahatyr, Novosilka, Shevchenko, Vilne Pole settlements, and in the direction of Voskresenka.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the enemy launched four attacks on our defenders’ positions; three were repelled, one combat engagement continues.

No enemy offensive actions have been recorded at this time in the Northern-Slobozhanskyi, Kursk, Siversk, Huliaipole, and Orikhiv directions.
According to the General Staff, over the past day, 142 combat engagements were recorded along the entire frontline. Ukrainian defenders are steadfastly holding back the enemy’s offensive, inflicting significant losses on the Russian forces.
