Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of June 18

As of 10:00 p.m. on June 19, a total of 136 combat engagements took place along the front lines over the course of the day. The highest number of battles was recorded in the Pokrovsk direction, according to a report by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Enemy attacks
In particular, on June 18, Russian forces carried out 32 airstrikes, dropping 43 guided bombs. In addition, they launched 982 kamikaze drones and conducted 3,634 attacks on Ukrainian military positions and populated areas.
Frontline situation
In the North-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, there were 28 combat clashes with Russian forces, with one still ongoing. The enemy carried out seven airstrikes, dropped 11 guided bombs, and conducted 192 artillery shellings, including six attacks with multiple launch rocket systems.
The enemy launched eight attacks in the South-Slobozhanskyi direction, targeting the areas of Vovchansk, Lyptsi, and Dovhenke, and also carried out an airstrike near the settlement of Lobanivka.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy made two attempts to advance toward Stepova Novoselivka and near Zahryzove but was repelled.
In the Lyman direction, the Defense Forces repelled 14 assaults in the areas of Novyi Myr, Olhivka, Hrekivka, Lypove, Zelena Dolyna, Torske, and in the directions of Shandryholove and Karpivka. One engagement is still ongoing.
In the Siversk direction, the enemy attacked twice near Hryhorivka.
Since the beginning of the day in the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy attacked near Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Bila Hora, Kurdyumivka, Predtechyne, Novomarkove, Bondarne, and Stupochky. Ukrainian units repelled 13 attacks, with two engagements still ongoing.
In the Toretsk direction, there were 15 combat engagements today. The enemy attempted to storm Ukrainian positions near Toretsk, Dyliivka, Shcherbynivka, and toward Yablunivka and Novospaske. Currently, two clashes are still ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, since the start of the day, the enemy launched 40 attacks near the settlements of Malynivka, Lysivka, Myroliubivka, Myrne, Promin, Novopavlivka, Myrnohrad, Udachne, Novoserhiivka, Kotliarivka, Oleksiivka, and toward Novopidhirne, Poltavka, and Popovyi Yar. Our defenders repelled 36 assaults, with four clashes still ongoing.
“Today, according to preliminary data, 184 Russian soldiers were neutralized on this front, of whom 95 were killed outright. In addition, Ukrainian soldiers destroyed an armored combat vehicle, eight antennas and a relay station, eight motorcycles, a radio-electronic warfare station, ten vehicles, four satellite communication terminals, and 34 drones. Furthermore, a lightly armored multipurpose transporter, a motorcycle, and two enemy firing positions were also hit,” the report stated.
In the Novopavlivka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 15 enemy attacks near Zaporizhzhia, Bahatyr, Veselyi, Myrne, Vilne, Novosilka, Vilne Polye, and Shevchenko. Two clashes are still ongoing. The settlements of Novodaryvka and Olhivka were hit by airstrikes.
In the Huliaipole direction, the Defense Forces successfully repelled one enemy assault near Malynivka. Additionally, the enemy carried out airstrikes on Huliaipole, Uspenivka, and Malynivka.
On the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled one enemy attack near Shcherbaky.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the settlement of Lvove was struck by an airstrike.
Russian army losses
From June 17 to 18, Russian forces lost 1,040 soldiers. During that same 24-hour period, Ukraine’s Armed Forces also destroyed 37 artillery systems, 184 drones, and 137 vehicles.
In addition, last week, the total losses of the Russian army since the beginning of the full-scale invasion surpassed 1 million personnel.
