Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of June 9

During the past day, June 8, there were 159 combat engagements on the front. The enemy exerted the most pressure in the Pokrovsk and Kursk directions, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
"Over the past day, the aviation, missile forces, and artillery of the Defense Forces struck 17 concentrations of enemy personnel and equipment, three artillery systems, a command-observation post, a UAV control center, and an electronic warfare station of the Russian occupiers," the General Staff wrote.
Situation on the front
Kupiansk direction: Seven enemy attacks took place near Stepova Novoselivka, Hlushkivka, and Zahryzove villages.
Lyman direction: The enemy attacked 15 times near the settlements of Hrekivka, Novyi Myr, Ridkodub, Zelena Dolyna, and toward Cherneshchyna, Torske, and Serebryanskyi forest.
Siversk direction: The enemy launched four assaults during the day on Ukrainian positions near Hryhorivka, Verkhnokamianske, and Vyimka.
Kramatorsk direction: Six combat engagements were recorded near Bila Hora, Predtechyne, and in the area of Kurdiumivka.
Toretsk direction: The enemy carried out 19 attacks near Dachne, Diliivka, Toretsk, and Yablunivka settlements.
Pokrovsk direction: The Defense Forces repelled 47 offensive actions by the aggressor in areas including Myroliubivka, Malynivka, Yelyzavetivka, Lysivka, Zvirove, Udachne, Horikhove, and others.
Novopavlivka direction: The Defense Forces repelled 19 attacks near Bahatyr, Odradne, Rivnopil, Novosilka, Novopil, and other settlements.
Huliaipole direction: The enemy made four attempts to advance near Malynivka.
Orikhiv direction: Three enemy attacks were repelled near Novoandriivka and Pavlivka.
Prydniprovskyi direction: The enemy twice unsuccessfully attempted to approach Ukrainian fortifications.
Kursk direction: Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 27 attacks by Russian occupiers.
Russian losses in war
Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Russia has lost over 997,000 personnel. In the past 24 hours alone, the enemy lost an additional 970 soldiers. The Defense Forces also destroyed:
