Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of May 29

Over the last day, May 28, 205 combat engagements took place on the frontline. Russia put the most pressure on the Pokrovsk and Kursk directions, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.
"Over the past day, the aviation, missile troops and artillery of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck 11 areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, a control point of unmanned aerial vehicles and two enemy artillery pieces," Ukraine's General Staff writes.

In the Kharkiv sector, Russia tried to break through the defensive lines in the areas of Starytsia, Vovchansk, and Krasne Pershne 4 times.
In the Kupiansk sector, Russia attacked 8 times in the areas of Zahryzove and Zelenyi Hai.
In the Lyman sector, Russia attacked 24 times in the areas of Ridkodub, Kolodiazi, Nadiia, Hrekivka, in the Serebrianskyi forest, and in the direction of Karpivka, Serednie, Novyi Myr, and Zelena Dolyna.
In the Siversk sector, Ukrainian Defense Forces stopped 3 Russian attacks in the direction of Verkhniokamianske and Hryhorivka.
In the Kramatorsk sector, Russia attacked 15 times in the direction of Markove, Predtechyne, and near Chasiv Yar and Bila Hora.
In the Toretsk sector, Russians attacked 21 times in the areas of Toretsk, Dyliivka, Druzhba, and towards Pleshchiyivka and Oleksandr-Kalynove.
In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian Armed Forces stopped 54 Russian attacks in the vicinity of Myroliubivka, Malynivka, Myrne, Lysivka, Kotlyne, and other localities.
In the Novopavlivka sector, Russia launched 21 attacks in the areas of Kostiantynopil, Bahatyr, Novopil, Zelene Pole, Vilne Pole, and in the direction of Voskresenka and Odradne.
In the Orikhiv sector, Russians stormed the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces 6 times near Shcherbaky, Stepove, Novodanylivka, and Robotyne.
In the Prydniprovskyi sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces stopped 2 Russian attacks.
In the Kursk sector, 33 combat clashes took place.
Russia's losses in war against Ukraine
Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Russia has lost more than 984,000 troops. Over the past 24 hours alone, enemy losses amounted to 1,050 soldiers. The Defense Forces also destroyed a Russian armored combat vehicle, 31 artillery systems, and more.
