Russia's losses in Ukraine as of May 29: +1,050 troops and 31 artillery systems

The Defense Forces of Ukraine demilitarized another 1,050 Russian servicemen and 31 enemy artillery systems over the past day, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022, to May 29, 2025, are estimated to be:
- personnel - about 984,940 (+1050) Russian troops were eliminated;
- tanks - 10,864;
- troop-carrying AFVs - 22,645 (+1);
- artillery systems - 28,386 (+31);
- MLRS - 1,397;
- anti-aircraft systems - 1,171;
- aircraft - 372;
- helicopters - 335;
- UAV operational-tactical level - 37,999 (+81);
- cruise missiles - 3,265;
- warships/boats - 28;
- submarines - 1;
- vehicles and fuel tanks - 50,015 (+56);
- special equipment - 3,902.
Frontline situation
As previously reported, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as of the evening of May 28, a total of 197 combat engagements had taken place along the front. Thus, the number of enemy assaults and attacks increased compared to the previous day, when 166 were recorded over a similar period.
Additionally, in a report published on May 29, experts from the US-based Institute for the Study of War (ISW) noted, among other things, that Russian forces had advanced in five directions - namely near Chasiv Yar, Toretsk, Pokrovsk, and Velyka Novosilka, as well as in the Kursk region.
