Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of May 26

Since the beginning of the day, 141 combat engagements have taken place along the entire front line. The enemy launched one missile strike and 52 airstrikes on the positions of Ukrainian forces and populated areas, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The enemy used nine missiles and 79 guided aerial bombs, conducted 1,158 strikes with kamikaze drones, and carried out 3,155 artillery shellings.
Situation on the frontlines
Ukrainian units repelled three enemy attacks in the Kharkiv direction near Vovchansk.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy attempted to advance five times near Zahryzove and toward Petropavlivka and Nova Kruhliakivka. All attacks were successfully repelled by the Defense Forces.
The enemy attacked 15 times in the Lyman direction, trying to advance near Hrekivka, Novomykhailivka, Ridkodub, Yampolivka, Torske, and toward Hryhorivka. Ukrainian defenders repelled 12 enemy attacks, while three engagements are still ongoing.
In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian troops successfully stopped two attacks near Bilohorivka and Verkhniokamianske. One battle is still underway.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the Russian forces attacked near Chasiv Yar, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, and toward Stupochky, Bila Hora, and Predtechyne. Two engagements are currently in progress.
The enemy attempted 11 times to break into positions of Ukrainian forces in the Toretsk direction, near Ozarianivka, Toretsk, and Shcherbynivka. There is still a battle going on in one location.
The enemy is actively assaulting Ukrainian defenders in the Pokrovsk direction. Throughout the day, the Russian forces launched 53 assault and offensive actions. High activity of Russian forces was recorded near the settlements of Zoria, Oleksandropil, Malynivka, Yelyzavetivka, Myroliubivka, Lysivka, Udachne, Novomykolaivka, Kotliarivka, Troitske, and Andriivka. Nine battles are still ongoing.
Preliminary estimates indicate that Ukrainian forces eliminated 296 enemy personnel in this direction today, including 150 killed. Additionally, Ukrainian defenders destroyed two vehicles, six motorcycles, 20 UAVs, two satellite terminals, eight fortified shelters for personnel, and a UAV control antenna. One enemy vehicle and one motorcycle were also damaged.
In the Novopavlivka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 18 attacks near Kostiantynopil, Bahatyr, Odradne, Zelene Pole, Novosilka, Novopil, and Vilne Pole. Five engagements are ongoing.
In the Orikhiv direction, three battles occurred. The enemy tried to advance near Mali Shcherbaky, Stepove, and toward Novoandriivka. Ukrainian troops successfully pushed back the Russian troops.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Ukrainian defenders successfully stopped one enemy attack.
In the Kursk direction, there were 23 combat engagements today, with three still ongoing. During the day, the enemy carried out 204 artillery strikes, including four from multiple launch rocket systems, and conducted eight airstrikes, dropping 13 guided bombs.
In the Huliaipole direction, no offensive actions were recorded today.
Special recognition goes to the warriors of the 34th Separate Coastal Defense Brigade and the 128th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade Dyke Pole, who are heroically holding back enemy attacks.
Russian forces lost 1,000 personnel in total over the past day.
