Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of May 19

Since the start of May 19, a total of 84 combat engagements have taken place along the frontline. The Russian forces are attacking in 10 directions, most actively in the Pokrovsk direction, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces.
In the Kharkiv direction, Russian troops launched two attacks near Vovchansk and Kutkivka, with one battle still ongoing.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy did not conduct any offensive actions.
In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian troops have come under attack 13 times throughout the day near Yampolivka, Zelena Dolyna, Torske, and toward Hlushchenkove, Karpivka, Serebrianka, Yampil, Hryhorivka, Ridkodub, and Olhivka. Three clashes are ongoing.
In the Siversk direction, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian positions three times near Verkhniokamianske, Bilohorivka, and toward Hryhorivka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, four engagements have occurred near Chasiv Yar, Bila Hora, and Kurdiumivka, one is still underway.
In the Toretsk direction, Russian troops attempted to break through defenses near Toretsk, Novospaske, and toward Diliivka. Ukrainian forces repelled two assaults; three battles are still ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, 26 Russian attempts to push Ukrainian forces from positions near Myroliubivka, Yelyzavetivka, Lysivka, Udachne, Novoserhiivka, Troitske, Kotliarivka, Andriivka, and toward Zoria, Novoukrainka, Stara Mykolaivka, Shevchenko Pershe, and Nova Poltavka. Defense forces have already repelled 20 assaults; six more engagements are ongoing.
In the Novopavlivka direction, Ukrainian troops repelled 11 Russian assaults as the enemy tried to advance near Kostiantynopil, Pryvilne, Rivnopil, Vilne Pole, and toward Novopil and Zelenyi Hai.
In the Huliaipole direction, Russian aircraft struck the towns of Huliaipole and Malynivka.
In the Orikhiv direction, four Russian attacks were recorded toward Mala Tokmachka and near Stepove. Stepnohirsk was hit by airstrikes.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Russian forces made one unsuccessful attempt to advance.
The operation in the Kursk direction is also underway. Ukrainian troops repelled two Russian attacks. Russian aircraft carried out six airstrikes in the area, dropping 17 guided bombs.
Russia's losses in the war
According to the General Staff, since the beginning of the full-scale war, Russia has lost more than 974,000 military personnel.
In particular, over the past day, the Russian army lost 1,040 soldiers. Also yesterday, Ukrainian soldiers destroyed 1 tank, 5 armored combat vehicles, 29 artillery systems, 118 drones, and other enemy equipment.
