Over the last day, from May 18 to 19, the Russian army lost 1,040 troops and 123 units of military equipment at the front, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.

The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022, to May 15, 2025, are estimated to be:

  • personnel - about 974,770 (+1,040) Russian troops were eliminated;
  • tanks - 10,833 (+1);
  • troop-carrying AFVs - 22,562 (+5)
  • artillery systems - 28,009 (+29)
  • MLRS - 1,387
  • anti-aircraft systems - 1167
  • aircraft - 372
  • helicopters - 336
  • UAV operational-tactical level - 36,503 (+118)
  • cruise missiles - 3,197
  • warships/boats - 28
  • submarines - 1
  • vehicles and fuel tanks - 48,988 (+88)
  • special equipment - 3,892.

Russian air attacks

Last night, Russians attacked Ukraine again with Shahed kamikaze drones. Explosions were heard in Kirovohrad, Cherkasy, Poltava, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions.

On Sunday, May 18, Russia fired a guided aerial bomb at the city of Kupiansk in the Kharkiv region. Civilians were injured as a result of the Russian attack.

On the night of May 18, the Russians launched 273 kamikaze drones at Ukraine, a record number. Of these, about 150 drones were sent to the Kyiv region alone.
