The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that, as of 4:00 PM Kyiv time on May 3, 123 combat engagements had taken place on the front lines since the start of the day. The heaviest fighting was recorded across four different directions.

Enemy shelling

Today, Russian artillery shelling affected the following settlements:

  • Mykolaivka in the Chernihiv region;
  • Yizdetske, Ponomarenky, Uhroidy, Bila Bereza, Novovasylivka, Malushyne in the Sumy region.

Airstrikes hit:

  • Mhy in the Chernihiv region;
  • Myropilske, Krasnopillia in the Sumy region.

Hottest directions

In the Lyman direction, Russian forces launched nine attacks on Ukrainian positions near the settlements of Ridkodub, Yampolivka, Kolodiazi, and Torske, as well as toward Hryhorivka. One battle is still ongoing.

In the Pokrovsk direction, 46 clashes of varying intensity took place today. Ukrainian forces are repelling enemy attacks in areas including Stara Mykolaivka, Zelenе Pole, Myrolyubivka, Yelyzavetivka, Lysivka, Shevchenko, Kotlyne, Novosergiyivka, Novooleksandrivka, Kotlyarivka, Troitske, and Andriivka, as well as in the direction of Nova Poltavka, Myrolyubivka, and Oleksiivka. Ten battles are still ongoing.

In the Novopavlivka direction, the enemy attempted to break through 50 times in the areas of Kostiantynopil, Novosilka, Rivnopil, Pryvilne, and toward Odradny, Zelenе Pole, Novopil, Shevchenko, and Bahatyria. Twenty-eight clashes are still ongoing.

In Russia's Kursk direction, Ukrainian forces repelled five attacks, with four more still underway. The enemy also carried out one airstrike, using two guided bombs, and launched 119 shelling attacks, five of which were from multiple rocket launchers.

Frontline situation in other directions

In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy attempted to attack our positions twice near Vovchansk.

In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy has been attacking Ukrainian positions near Zahryzove since the start of the day. The battle is still ongoing.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled three enemy attacks near Chasiv Yar and toward Mayske and Bila Hora. One battle continues.

In the Toretsk direction, the enemy launched an attack on our positions near Krymske.

In the Huliaipole direction, the enemy used unguided aerial rockets against Malynivka and Huliaipole.

In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled two Russian attacks near Novodanylivka and Kamianske.

In the Siversk, Huliaipole, and Prydniprovskyi directions, no enemy offensive operations were conducted.

The enemy's losses

As of today, May 2–3, the Russians have lost 1,170 soldiers in the war against Ukraine. As a result, Russian losses since the start of the full-scale invasion have exceeded 955,000 military personnel.

Additionally, over the past day, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 48 artillery systems, 126 drones, and 121 units of Russian military vehicles.
