Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of April 27

In just one day, on April 26, the Russians doubled the number of assaults in the Pokrovsk direction and intensified a new offensive instead of the one in the Kursk region. A total of 174 combat engagements took place on the front over the day, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Situation in the Pokrovsk direction
In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped 68 enemy assault attempts near the settlements of Sukha Balka, Yelyzavetivka, Novotoretske, Promin, Lysivka, Dachenske, Udachne, Uspenivka, Preobrazhenka, Kotliarivka, and Andriivka.
Over the course of one day, the Russians doubled the number of assaults in the Pokrovsk direction. By the morning of April 26, only 44 enemy attacks were recorded on this front.
New direction of activity has emerged
Considering the decrease in assaults in the Kursk region, likely related to statements by Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin about the supposed "liberation" of the Kursk region, the occupiers have intensified their actions in the Toretsk area.
"In the Toretsk direction, the enemy carried out 29 attacks in the areas of Druzhba, Leonidivka, Krymske, and Toretsk," the General Staff reports.
Thus, by the morning of April 27, the Toretsk and Pokrovsk directions became the "hottest" areas of the front.
Situation on other fronts
In the Kupiansk direction, four enemy attacks took place yesterday. Ukrainian defenders repelled the assault actions of the invaders near Nova Kruhliakivka and Zahrizove.
