Despite the "liberation" of the Kursk region, as claimed by Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin, fighting continues in this area. The Ukrainian Armed Forces maintain their presence, controlling almost 18 square kilometers, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
"Ukraine's defense forces continue to hold back the enemy on the Kursk front," the report states.
Over the past day, the enemy launched 20 airstrikes, dropping 37 guided bombs, and carried out 296 shellings, 14 of which were from multiple rocket launchers.
"Ukrainian defenders stopped 15 enemy assault operations," the military reports.
Compared to the previous day, by the morning of April 27, the occupiers have halved the number of assaults on Ukrainian Armed Forces positions in the Kursk region, from 30 to 15. Just yesterday morning, the Kursk front was among the top "hottest" areas of the front line, along with the Pokrovsk direction.

"Liberation" of the Kursk region: What Putin said
On April 26, the Kremlin announced the so-called "liberation" of the Kursk region. However, according to the Deep State map, Ukrainian forces continued to control about 30 square kilometers in this region as of April 26.
Moreover, for the first time, Russia officially confirmed the involvement of North Korean military personnel against Ukraine — they are participating in the fighting specifically in the Kursk region.
On the same day, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces stated that the defensive operation by Ukrainian troops in the Kursk region continues, and the Kremlin is "making wishes come true."
