Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of April 26

As of 4:00 PM Kyiv time, April 26, there have been 90 combat clashes on the front. The enemy attacked the most in the Pokrovsk direction; there were also battles in the Kursk region, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Enemy shelling
The General Staff informed that the Russian invaders are striking the areas of Chernihiv and Sumy regions. In particular, artillery shelling was suffered by the settlements of Hremyach, Yanzhulivka, Tymonovychi, Stepok, Bila Bereza, Bratenytsia, Dmytrivka, Kucherivka, Prokhody, Myronivka, Popivka, Fotovyzh, Novodmytrivka. The areas of the settlements of Myropilske, Prokhody, Mykhailivka, Riasne, and Novodmytrivka came under Russian airstrikes.
Situation on the fronts
In the Pokrovsk direction today, the enemy attacked the positions of our defenders 31 times in the areas of the settlements of Sukha Balka, Yelyzavetivka, Novotoretske, Promin, Lysivka, Dachenske, Udachne, Uspenivka, Preobrazhenka, Kotliarivka, and Andriivka; three combat clashes are still ongoing. The Russian KABs hit Novopavlivka, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Bahatyr, and Oleksiivka.
In the Kursk region today, six combat clashes took place, one battle is still ongoing. In addition, the enemy carried out three airstrikes, dropping five KABs, and conducted 148 artillery shellings, including ten from multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy tried three times to advance on the positions of Ukrainian units in the areas of Kruhliakivka and Zahryzove.
In the Lyman direction today, the aggressor attacked 12 times in the areas of the settlements of Nadiya, Cherneshchyna, Hrekivka, Nove, Novomykhailivka, and in the direction of Serebrianka. Currently, three combat clashes are ongoing.
In the Siversk direction, two offensive actions of the enemy are ongoing near the settlements of Bilohorivka and Verkhniokamianske.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the Defense Forces repelled seven enemy attempts to advance near Chasiv Yar, Kurdiumivka, Stupochky, and Bila Hora, three more attacks are ongoing.
In the Toretsk direction, the enemy attacked the positions of our troops nine times in the areas of Druzhba, Leonidivka, and Toretsk. Three combat clashes are still ongoing.
In the Novopavlivka direction, our defenders repelled four enemy attacks in the areas of the settlements of Pryvilne, Dniproenerhiia, and Rozlyv; two more attacks are still ongoing.
In the Huliaipole direction, the enemy struck Huliaipole with unguided rockets.
In the Orikhiv direction, the Defense Forces successfully stopped one enemy attack, and two more are ongoing. The enemy is trying to advance in the areas of the settlements of Mali Shcherbaky and Stepove. The settlement of Novoandriivka suffered airstrikes with guided aerial bombs.
In the Prydniprovsk direction, our defenders successfully stopped one enemy attack.
Battles in the Kursk region
Today, Russia announced the alleged liberation of the Kursk region. However, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine refuted the information, reporting that in certain areas of the region, the operation is ongoing.
They said that despite the difficult operational situation, the units of the Ukrainian army continue to hold certain positions and perform their assigned tasks.
