The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that as of 4:00 PM on April 20 (Kyiv time), there have been 45 combat engagements on the frontlines. Nearly half of them occurred in the Pokrovsk direction.

Enemy shelling

Throughout today, the enemy launched artillery strikes from Russian territory on the areas of the settlements of Myropilske and Turia in the Sumy region.

Frontline situation

In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces remain highly active. Since the beginning of the day, there have been 20 clashes of varying intensity near the settlements of Sukha Balka, Myroliubivka, Yelyzavetivka, Lysivka, Kotlyne, Udachne, Novooleksandrivka, Uspenivka, Preobrazhenka, Andriivka, and Rozliv. Two of those battles are still ongoing.

In the Lyman direction, two engagements took place near Nadiia and Myrnyi.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Russian forces launched four attacks near Chasiv Yar, as well as toward Stupochky and Bila Hora. One battle is still ongoing.

In the Toretsk direction, the enemy attacked twice in the areas of Druzhba and Toretsk.

In the Novopavlivka direction, Russian forces made two attempts to advance near Skudne and toward Odradne.

In the Orikhiv directions, the enemy made three attempts to advance toward Ukrainian positions near Mala Tokmachka and Stepove but was pushed back each time.

In Russia's Kursk region, Ukrainian forces repelled three Russian attacks. So far, a total of 12 clashes have been recorded. The enemy has launched 100 artillery strikes, including seven using multiple rocket launch systems.

In the Kharkiv, Kupiansk, Siversk, Huliaipole, and Prydniprovskyi directions, the enemy did not conduct active offensive operations.

The enemy's losses

Over the past 24 hours, from April 19 to April 20, Russia lost 950 troops. Ukrainian forces also destroyed 49 artillery systems, 64 drones, and 112 units of enemy military vehicles.
