Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of April 12

Over the past day, 149 combat engagements were recorded along the frontline.

Russian troops continue massive strikes on Ukrainian positions and populated areas: 101 airstrikes were carried out, during which 183 guided aerial bombs were dropped, and more than 6,400 shelling attacks took place, including 215 with MLRS. A total of 2,789 kamikaze drones were also used.

Airstrikes were mainly concentrated on border and frontline settlements. In particular, strikes were carried out in the areas of Karasivka, Duvanivka, and Kupiansk (Kharkiv region); Mykolaivka (Chernihiv region); Petrushivka, Prokhody, Myropilske, Osoivka, Taratutyne, Krasnopillia, and Velykyi Prykol (Sumy region); Kostiantynivka, Zoria, Shevchenko, Novopil, Bahatyr (Donetsk region); and Huliaipole (Zaporizhzhia region).

The Defense Forces also struck accurately at 11 areas of enemy manpower and equipment concentration, destroying one artillery system and two air defense assets.

Situation at the front

In the Kharkiv direction, three enemy assault attempts were recorded in the areas of Kamianka and Zakhidne. All attacks were successfully repelled by Ukrainian forces.

In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy carried out seven attacks, trying to advance near Holubivka, Nova Kruhliakivka, and Zahryzove. All assault actions were stopped.

In the Lyman direction, Russian forces launched 25 assaults. The enemy tried to break through near Nadiia, Hrekivka, Nove, Katerynivka, Zelena Dolyna, and Yampolivka, but Ukrainian defenders held their positions.

In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian units repelled six breakthrough attempts near Ivano-Darivka and Bilohorivka.

In the Kramatorsk direction, three clashes occurred near Kurdiumivka, Chasiv Yar, and Orikhovo-Vasylivka.

In the Toretsk direction, the enemy became more active, launching 14 attacks near Dachne, Druzhba, and Toretsk.

In the Pokrovsk direction, there were 40 attacks. The enemy attempted to break through the defense in the areas of Kalynove, Tarasivka, Yelyzavetivka, Pishchane, Udachne, Uspenivka, Preobrazhenka, Nadiivka, and Andriivka. All enemy attempts were repelled with significant losses for them.

In the Novopavlivka direction, the enemy attempted to attack Ukrainian positions near Rozlyv and Rozdolne six times.

In the Huliaipole direction, three clashes occurred in the areas of Pryvilne, Novosilka, and Burlatske.

In the Orikhiv direction, four offensive actions were recorded near Mali Shcherbaky, and in the Prydniprovskyi direction, seven attacks, all unsuccessful for the enemy.

In the operational zone in the Kursk direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 21 enemy attacks. The enemy also carried out 55 airstrikes, using 90 guided bombs. In total, the Russians conducted 156 artillery strikes, including 29 from rocket artillery. Ukrainian forces are holding the defense and effectively neutralizing the threat.

Losses of the Russian Federation

It is worth noting that yesterday, Russian casualties amounted to 1,240 personnel. Ukrainian forces also destroyed 11 tanks, seven armored fighting vehicles, 49 artillery systems, two rocket launchers, 78 operational-tactical UAVs, and 128 vehicles of the occupying forces.
