Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of March 14

There were 146 combat clashes in the past 24 hours on the front line. In the Kursk region, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 22 Russian attacks, reports the General Staff of the UAF.
Over the past day, the aviation, missile forces, and artillery of the Defense Forces struck 13 areas of Russian troop concentration, weapons, and military equipment. They also hit five artillery systems and one ammunition depot of the Russian invaders.
Situation by frontline areas
Kharkiv direction
The enemy carried out five offensive actions toward the settlements of Vovchansk, Krasne Pershe, and Doroshivka.
Kupiansk direction
Russians carried out three attacks. Defense forces repelled enemy assault actions near Holubivka, Zahryzove, and Bohuslavka.
Lyman direction
The enemy attacked 15 times, attempting to advance near Torske, Yampilivka, and toward Zelena Dolyna, Hryhorivka, Nove, and Novomykhailivka.
Siversk direction
Ukrainian defenders repelled seven enemy assaults near Bilohorivka and Verkhnokamyanske.
Kramatorsk direction
One combat engagement was recorded in the Chasiv Yar area.
Toretsk direction
The enemy conducted 14 attacks near Toretsk, Krymske, and Druzhba.
Pokrovsk direction
Ukrainian forces halted 49 enemy assaults in the areas of Yelyzavetivka, Promin, Lysivka, Kotlyne, Udachne, Oleksandropil, Tarasivka, Uspenivka, Novooleksandrivka, Novoserhiivka, Kotliarivka, Oleksiivka, and Andriivka.
Novopavlivka direction
The enemy made five unsuccessful attempts to break through near Kostyantynopil and Burlatske.
Huliaipole direction
Eight combat clashes occurred in the areas of Novosilka, Rivnopil, Vilne Pole, and Novopil.
Orikhiv direction
The enemy conducted 12 offensive actions in the areas of Stepove, Piatykhatky, Shcherbaky, Kamianske, and toward Novoandriivka and Mala Tokmachka.
Prydniprovskyi direction
No offensive actions were recorded.
Kursk direction
In the Kursk region, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 22 Russian attacks yesterday. Additionally, the enemy carried out 37 airstrikes using 54 guided bombs and conducted 203 artillery strikes on Ukrainian positions and settlements, including three strikes from multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS).
Fighting in the Kursk region
The Ukrainian Defense Forces launched an operation in the Kursk region in early August 2024. The Russian forces are trying to push the UAF from their positions.
Since early March, the situation in the Kursk region has worsened. RBC-Ukraine sources report that Russian troops are attempting to cut the Sudzha-Sumy road to create an operational encirclement of Ukrainian forces.
Russian forces have advanced toward the city of Sudzha. The Russian Ministry of Defense has already claimed control over the city.
