Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of March 5

Since the beginning of the day on March 5, 59 combat clashes have taken place at the front. The enemy is most active in the Pokrovsk direction and in the Kursk region, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Fighting continues in the Kharkiv direction: Russian troops are attempting to break through the defensive lines of the Ukrainian forces toward Vovchansk. The situation is under the control of the Defense Forces, and our defenders are giving a worthy rebuff to the Russian invaders.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy attacked our positions once near the settlement of Holubivka, but our defenders successfully halted their attempts to advance.
Today, in the Lyman direction, the invading army launched five attacks on Ukrainian positions near Novomykhailivka and Nove. Currently, four combat clashes are ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk direction, our defenders repelled four enemy attacks in the areas of Chasiv Yar, Oleksandro-Shultyne, and Predtechyne. One combat clash is still ongoing.
In the Toretsk direction, the Russian forces tried to push our units from their positions near Toretsk, Dachne, and Diliivka. The Defense Forces repelled nine assaults by Russian units, and three combat clashes are still ongoing.
Since the beginning of the day, in the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy made 11 attempts to push our defenders from their positions near Yelyzavetivka, Promin, Pishchane, Kotlyn, Bohdanivka, Kotliarivka, and Andriivka. The Defense Forces have held the line and repelled all enemy attacks. The Russian army carried out airstrikes with guided bombs on the areas of the settlements of Zelene Pole, Pokrovsk, Chunyshyne, and Oleksiivka. Enemy losses are being clarified.
In the Novopavlivka direction, Ukrainian forces repelled two attacks by the occupying army near Kostiantynopil and Burlatske. The enemy carried out airstrikes in the areas of the settlements of Odradne and Vesele.
In the Huliaipole direction, the enemy launched airstrikes on the settlements of Huliaipole, Shevchenko, Zaliznychne, and Novopil.
In the Orikhiv direction, our defenders successfully repelled an enemy attack toward Kamianske.
In the Kursk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled eight enemy attacks, with four more combat clashes ongoing. Additionally, the enemy carried out 226 artillery shellings of our military positions and settlements, including six from multiple rocket launch systems, launched seven airstrikes, and dropped 14 guided bombs.
In the Siversk and Prydniprovskyi directions, the enemy did not carry out active operations.
Russia's losses in the war
According to the General Staff, since the beginning of the full-scale war, Russia has lost more than 880,000 personnel.
In just the past day, the Russian army's losses amounted to 1,250 soldiers. Additionally, yesterday, the Defense Forces destroyed 1 tank, 6 armored fighting vehicles, 23 artillery systems, 108 drones, and other enemy equipment.
