Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of March 1

As of 10:00 PM (Kyiv time), 83 combat engagements occurred in the frontline over the last day. Some fighting is still ongoing, informs the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Enemy shelling
Today, Russian forces launched two missile strikes and 76 airstrikes, using two missiles and 95 guided bombs. They deployed 987 kamikaze drones and carried out over 4,000 shellings on Ukrainian military positions and populated areas.
Frontline situation
In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy carried out airstrikes with guided bombs on Okhrimivka, Makarove, Buhaivka, and Hranove.
In the Kupiansk direction, Russian forces conducted three offensive actions near Novoosynove and Zahryzove but were repelled.
In the Lyman direction, Russians attacked Ukrainian defense positions 10 times near Novyi, Novomykhailivka, and Yamplivka, and in the direction of Katerynivka. Eight of these attacks have been repelled, while two are ongoing. Borova and Bohuslavka came under enemy airstrikes.
In the Toretsk direction, Ukrainian forces repelled 13 enemy attacks in Krymske, Dachne, Toretsk, and Diliivka. Airstrikes hit Kostiantynivka and Toretsk.
In the Pokrovsk direction, since the beginning of the day, the enemy has launched 21 attacks in the areas of Nova Poltavka, Yelyzavetivka, Promin, Kotlyarivka, Nadezhdinka, Pokrovsk, Pishchane, Udachne, Preobrazhenka, Bohdanivka, Andriivka, and Ulakly. The enemy’s aviation carried out guided bomb strikes on Pokrovsk, Udachne, Hrodivka, Novopavlivka, and Novoukrainka.
"Today, in this direction, according to preliminary data, Ukrainian soldiers eliminated 236 Russians, including 116 killed. They also destroyed four vehicles, a D-30 howitzer, 14 UAVs, eight motorcycles, two ATVs, two armored personnel carriers, a mortar, a BMP, an armored recovery vehicle, seven UAV control antennas, and six communication antennas. A tank, a combat armored vehicle, a self-propelled artillery unit, a mortar, and a motorcycle of Russian forces were also damaged," the General Staff said.
In the Novopavlivka direction, the enemy made eight attempts to break through Ukrainian defenses toward the settlements of Kostiantynopil and Skudne. One battle is currently ongoing. Airstrikes hit Komar and Shevchenko.
In the Huliaipole direction, Russian forces attacked three times in the direction of Pryvilne and Charivne. Airstrikes hit Ternove, Huliaipole, and Zaliznychne.
In the Orikhiv direction, with air support, Russians attempted to advance in Piatykhatky, Nesterianka, and Kamianske. Ukrainian forces repelled all four attacks.
In the Prydniprovsky direction, the enemy conducted one offensive action, and a battle was ongoing.
In Russia's Kursk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 16 enemy attacks today. At the same time, the enemy carried out 22 airstrikes, dropped 30 guided bombs, and launched 383 artillery shellings, including four from multiple rocket launchers.
In other directions, the operational situation has not changed much.
As a reminder, 91 combat engagements were registered in the frontline on February 28. On that day, the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck 11 areas with Russian forces.
