Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of February 23

In one day, on February 22, there were 112 combat encounters on the front lines. In particular, Ukrainian forces struck 15 areas where Russian troops were concentrated, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"Over the past day, aviation, rocket troops, and artillery of the Defense Forces struck two command points, 15 areas of concentration of personnel and equipment, and two artillery systems of the invaders," the statement said.
Pokrovsk direction
In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders halted 34 assault and offensive actions by the aggressor near the settlements of Vodiane Druge, Novotoretske, Yelyzavetivka, Promin, Dachenske, Kotlyne, Udachne, Novooleksandrivka, Andriivka, and Ulakly.
At the same time, the enemy actively employed bomber and assault aviation against the settlements and positions of our troops.
Situation in other directions
In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy launched five attacks towards Vovchansk, Fyholivka, Dvorichna, and Zapadne.
In the Kupiansk direction, three attacks by the occupiers occurred over the day. The Defense Forces repelled the enemy's assault actions in the area of Zahryzove.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked 13 times, attempting to breach the defenses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near the settlements of Ivanivka, Kolodiazi, Yamplivka, and in the Serebryanske forestry.
In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian units repelled the offensive actions of the invaders three times in the area of Bilohorivka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the occupiers launched six attacks in the areas of Vasiukivka, Stupochky, and Bila Hora.
In the Toretsk direction, the enemy conducted 13 attacks near Toretsk and towards Dylivka.
In the Novopavlivka direction, the aggressor attacked eight times near the settlements of Kostiantynopil and Buralatske.
In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled four attacks in the area of Piatykhatky and Shcherbaky.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Russian invaders attempted once to dislodge the Armed Forces units from their positions but failed and sustained losses.
Operations continue in the Kursk direction. Over the past day, Ukrainian defenders repelled 13 enemy attacks in this area. The enemy carried out 20 airstrikes, dropping 28 guided bombs, and conducted 383 shellings, including 14 from multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Hulyaipole direction, the occupiers did not conduct offensive actions.
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, there were no signs of enemy offensive group formations detected.
Along the border with Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the enemy is actively using artillery and strike drones from the territory of the Russian Federation against areas of Ukrainian settlements.
Russian losses in Ukraine
On February 22, Russian losses amounted to 1,180 soldiers. Ukrainian warriors also neutralized seven tanks, 12 armored combat vehicles, 54 artillery systems, one MLRS, one air defense system, 117 tactical level UAVs, 91 vehicles, and three units of special equipment of the invaders.
