Over the past day, from February 22 to 23, the Russian army lost 1,180 soldiers in the war. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, total Russian losses have reached 867,180 troops. Additionally, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 54 artillery systems and 117 drones, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022, to February 23, 2025, are estimated to be:

  • personnel - about 867,180 (+1,180) Russian troops were eliminated;
  • tanks - 10,168 (+7);
  • armored personnel vehicles - 21,151(+12);
  • artillery systems - 23,582 (+54);
  • MLRS - 1,296 (+1);
  • anti-aircraft warfare systems - 1,081 (+1);

  • helicopters - 331;
  • UAVs operational-tactical level - 26,428 (+117);
  • cruise missiles - 3,064;
  • warships/boats - 28;
  • submarines - 1;
  • motor vehicles and fuel tanks - 38,334 (+91);
  • special equipment - 3,757 (+3).

Situation on the frontline

As of 10:00 PM on February 22, a total of 107 combat engagements took place along the frontline. Over the past day, Russian forces carried out 59 airstrikes, deploying 107 guided aerial bombs. They also launched 755 attack drones and fired more than 4,000 rounds at Ukrainian positions and settlements.

In the Pokrovsk sector, where the fiercest battles continue, Russian troops attempted to break through Ukrainian defenses 34 times. In this area alone, 265 Russian soldiers were neutralized, with 112 killed in action.
