As of 10:00 p.m. Kyiv time on Saturday, February 22, there were 107 combat engagements on the front over the day. A third of the battles occurred in the Pokrovsk direction, according to the report from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Enemy shelling

Over the day, Russian forces carried out 59 airstrikes, using 107 guided aerial bombs (KAB). In addition, they deployed 755 kamikaze drones and conducted over four thousand shelling attacks on Ukrainian military positions and civilian settlements.

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy attacked five times towards Vovchansk, Fyholivka, Dvorichna, and Zapadne. Airstrikes targeted Monachynivka, Zapadne, Zolochev, and Dubivka.

In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy carried out three assaults on the positions of our defenders near Zahryzove. Ukrainian forces repelled two attacks, and one battle is still ongoing.

In the Lyman direction, since the beginning of the day, Russian forces launched 12 attacks on Ukrainian positions near the settlements of Ivanivka, Kolodiazi, Yampolivka, and in the Serebryanske Forestry. One combat engagement is still ongoing.

The Defense Forces repelled enemy offensive actions three times near Bilohorivka in the Siversk direction.

In the Kramatorsk direction, six combat engagements have been recorded near Vasiukivka, Stupochky, and Bila Hora, all of which were repelled by Ukrainian forces.

In the Toretsk direction, the Russian forces attacked the defense positions 13 times. The main efforts of the offensive were concentrated near the settlement of Toretsk and towards Dilyivka.

Since the beginning of the day, in the Pokrovsk direction, the Russian forces have attempted to break through our defenses 34 times near the settlements of Vodiane Druhe, Novotoretske, Yelizavetivka, Promin, Dachenske, Kotlyne, Udachne, Novooleksandrivka, Andriivka, and Ulakli.

"The Defense Forces are holding off enemy assaults, and the enemy is suffering significant losses. Today, 265 Russian soldiers were neutralized in this direction, with 112 of them being irretrievable. Ten units of automotive equipment, two UAV antennas, one satellite communication device, one electronic warfare system, two motorcycles, one armored personnel carrier (APC), two mortars, and significant damage to three artillery systems and BMPs of the invaders were also destroyed," the statement reads.

In the Novopavlivka direction, Ukrainian units repelled eight enemy attacks near the settlements of Kostiantynopil and Burlatske.

In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled four attacks in the area of Piatykhatky and Shcherbakivka.

One attempt by the enemy to attack our units in the Prydniprovskyi direction failed. Enemy aviation struck with guided bombs (KABs) on Kherson, Tyahynka, Kozatske, and Shlyakhove.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces continued their operations in the Kursk direction, where the enemy conducted 12 assaults on Ukrainian positions over the day, all of which were successfully repelled by our defenders. The enemy carried out 19 airstrikes, dropped 27 guided bombs, and launched 330 artillery shelling attacks.

In the Hulyaipole direction, the enemy did not conduct any active offensive actions.

On other fronts, there have been no significant changes.

Today, we would like to acknowledge the soldiers of the 118th Separate Mechanized Brigade and the 34th Separate Coastal Defense Brigade, who have been effectively destroying the enemy, inflicting significant losses in manpower and equipment.
