Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of February 17

As of the evening of February 17, there were 122 combat engagements on the front line. The situation remains most intense in the Pokrovsk direction, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the General Staff, since the beginning of the day, Russian forces launched one missile strike using two missiles and carried out 53 airstrikes, employing 67 KABs. Additionally, they deployed 1,067 kamikaze drones and conducted about 4,500 shelling attacks on the positions of our troops and settlements.
In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy attempted to assault the positions of our units in the areas of Vovchansk and Topol. Still, the Defense Forces successfully repelled three attempts by the Russian army to advance.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy conducted nine offensive actions near Petropavlivka, Hlushkivka, Zahrizove, and towards Novoosynove. Ukrainian units repelled all enemy attacks.
In the Lyman direction, Russian forces attempted to storm the positions of the Defense Forces six times near Hrekivka, Zarichne, and Yampolivka but were repelled.
In the Siversk direction, the enemy attacked once towards Bilohorivka but was unsuccessful.
Since the beginning of the day, in the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy attacked in the areas of Chasiv Yar and Vasiukivka. Two attempts by the Russian forces to push our defenders from their positions were unsuccessful, and three combat engagements are ongoing.
In the Toretsk direction, five combat engagements took place today. The enemy attempted to storm the positions of Ukrainian units near Toretsk. Two battles are still ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, since the beginning of today, the enemy has attacked 44 times in the areas of Myroliubivka, Yelyzavetivka, Promin, Lysivka, Novoukrainka, Pishchane, Kotlyny, Udachne, Uspenivka, Nadiivka, Yasenove, Ulakly, Andriivka, and Dachne. Our defenders repelled 36 assaults, and eight more combat engagements are ongoing.
Today in this direction, 325 Russian soldiers were neutralized, 163 of them irreversibly. Additionally, Ukrainian forces destroyed a tank, seven UAVs, a heavy flamethrower system TOS-2, and two vehicles, also damaging two cars, a motorcycle, two UAV control antennas, and three artillery systems.
In the Novopavlivka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 21 attacks by the Russian army in the areas of Novosilka, Rivnopil, Novyi Komar, and towards Kostiantynopil and Burlatske. Fighting continues at five locations.
In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled two attacks today in the areas of Shcherbaky and Nesterianka.
In the Kursk region, the Defense Forces repelled eight assault actions by Russian forces, and two combat engagements are still ongoing.
Russia's losses in the war
According to the General Staff, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has lost nearly 859,000 soldiers.
In particular, during the past day, the losses of Russian forces amounted to 1,530 personnel. Additionally, Ukrainian forces destroyed 16 tanks, 52 armored fighting vehicles, 37 artillery systems, and other enemy equipment.
