Since the beginning of the day, 71 combat engagements have occurred in the frontline. Ukrainian troops are depleting Russian troops along the entire front line and in the rear, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Ukrainian defenders are stopping Russian invaders, holding the lines, and destroying the Russians' plans. At the same time, Russian occupiers continue to focus their efforts on the Pokrovsk, Kupiansk, and Lyman directions and in the Kursk region.
Ukrainian border towns and villages continue to suffer from Russian artillery shelling. Today, Zaliznyi Mist and Mykolaiivka in the Chernihiv region and Khliborob in the Sumy region were under Russian attack.
In the Kupiansk sector, Russians have made 15 attempts to advance to Ukrainian positions in the areas of Topoli, Dvorichna, Petropavlivka, Stepova Novosilka, Hlushkivka, Zahryzove and Lozova since the beginning of the day. Ukrainian defenders repelled 11 Russian attacks, and 4 combat engagements are ongoing.
Russians attacked the positions of Ukrainian troops 12 times in the Lyman sector near Novoyehorivka, Terny, Yampolivka, Kolodiazy, Torske, and in the direction of Novomykhailivka. 4 firefights are currently underway. Russian aircraft attacked Zelenyi Hai with unguided missiles.
In the Siversk sector, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 3 Russian attacks near Verkhniokamianske and Bilohorivka, a combat clash is still ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk sector, Ukrainian troops repelled 2 Russian attacks. 3 combat clashes are still ongoing. Russian troops are active in the areas of Chasiv Yar and Bila Hora.
In the Toretsk sector, Russians tried to advance 5 times in the vicinity of Toretsk. 2 firefights are currently underway.
Russian invaders are still active in the Pokrovsk sector. 22 combat clashes of varying intensity have broken out here today. Ukrainian troops are repelling Russian attacks in the areas of Zelene Pole, Yelyzavetivka, Promin, Zvirove, Udachne, Uspenivka, Novooleksandrivka, Sribne, and Dachne. 8 more combat clashes are currently underway.
Russian troops once tried to break through in the direction of Kostiantynopil in the Novopavlivka sector, but were stopped by Ukrainian defenders.
In the Huliaipole sector, Russian invaders attacked the positions of Ukrainian defenders in the area of Novosilka and were repelled.
In the Orikhiv sector, 2 battles are taking place in the vicinity of Shcherbaky and Nesterianka.
In the Kharkiv and Prydniprovskyi sectors, Russians have not been active since the beginning of the day.
In the Kursk region, Ukrainian defenders repelled 3 Russian attacks, and a combat clash is still ongoing. In addition, Russians launched 7 air strikes with 9 guided bombs.
Situation at frontline
Russian troops are suffering heavy losses, but continue to intensify their assault on Ukrainian positions. Russia recently announced the full occupation of Velyka Novosilka in the Donetsk region.
In addition, the Russian occupiers are gradually expanding their foothold on the western bank of the Oskil River in the Kharkiv region, UK intelligence recently said.
The occupation of Pokrovsk is also one of the main goals of the Russian troops. According to the Khortytsia operational and strategic group of troops, the Russian occupiers are not trying to storm the city, but intend to bypass it to avoid heavy urban fighting.
