Ukrainian defenders continue to firmly resist the enemy's attempts to advance deeper into our territory. Instead, they are delivering effective fire strikes against the enemy, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"Operational information as of 10:00 p.m. on January 24, 2025, regarding the Russian invasion. In total, 190 combat engagements took place since the beginning of the day," the General Staff said.

The military explained that throughout the day, Russian forces carried out one missile strike and 28 airstrikes on Ukrainian territory, using one missile and 37 guided air bombs (KAB). Additionally, the Russian forces deployed 423 kamikaze drones and launched more than three thousand artillery strikes on our forces' positions and settlements.

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled two enemy assaults near Vovchansk.

In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy launched 13 assaults on our defenders' positions in the areas of Pishchane, Dvorichne, Hlushkivka, Nova Kruhlyakivka, Zelenyi Hai, and Zahrizove. Ukrainian forces successfully repelled seven attacks, while six skirmishes are still ongoing.

In the Lyman direction, since the beginning of the day, Russian forces have attacked Ukrainian positions 16 times near the settlements of Novoyehorivka, Novolyubivka, Kopanky, Zelena Dolyna, and Torske. Two skirmishes are currently ongoing.

In the Kramatorsk direction, 39 skirmishes have been recorded near Chasiv Yar, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Stupochky, Vasyukivka, Novomarkove, and Bila Hora, with 15 of them still ongoing.

In the Toretsk direction, the Russian forces attacked the defense positions 20 times. The main efforts of the invaders were concentrated near Toretsk, Krymske, Dyliivka, Leonidivka, and Shcherbynivka. Two skirmishes are still ongoing.

Since the beginning of the day, in the Pokrovsk direction, the Russian forces have attempted to breach our defenses 78 times near the settlements of Vodiane Druhe, Baranivka, Myrolyubivka, Myrnohrad, Shevchenko, Yelizavetivka, Promin, Lysivka, Zelene, Pokrovsk, Novoukrainka, Udachne, Kotlyne, Novoielyzavetivka, Uspenivka, Sribne, Andriivka, Dachne, Ulakly, and Yantarne. Twelve skirmishes are still ongoing.

"The enemy is suffering significant losses - today, 367 Russian soldiers were neutralized in this direction, 186 of them irreversibly," the military explained.

Additionally, twelve vehicles, two infantry fighting vehicles, one trench electronic warfare system, and three communication antennas were destroyed. Moreover, three enemy mortars sustained significant damage.

In the Novopavlivka direction, the enemy launched three attacks near Kostyantynopil.

In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy, supported by aviation, launched three attacks on Mala Tokmachka and Novodanylivka.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, our forces repelled three enemy attacks.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces continued their operation in the Kursk direction, where the enemy conducted 13 assaults on Ukrainian positions throughout the day. Twelve of these attacks have already been repelled, and one battle is ongoing. The enemy carried out 25 airstrikes with 30 guided bombs and conducted 387 artillery shellings, 15 of which were from MLRS.

In the Siversk and Huliaipole directions, the enemy did not engage in offensive actions.

"The situation on other fronts has not undergone significant changes," stated the General Staff.

Today, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine highlighted the heroism and effective performance of several brigades that continue to inflict significant losses on the enemy in manpower and equipment. Gratitude was expressed to:

  • The 44th Separate Artillery Brigade named after Hetman Danylo Apostol;
  • The 124th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade;
  • The 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo;
  • The 37th Separate Marine Brigade;
  • The 100th Separate Mechanized Brigade;
  • The 43rd Separate Mechanized Brigade.

Russia's losses in the war

According to the General Staff, since the beginning of the full-scale war against Ukraine, Russia has lost over 825,000 military personnel.

Notably, in the past day alone, Russian forces suffered losses of 1,500 personnel.

Additionally, Ukrainian forces destroyed 2 tanks, 11 armored fighting vehicles, 39 artillery systems, and other enemy equipment yesterday.
