Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of January 23
Over the past day, January 22, 115 combat engagements took place at the front, 62 of which were recorded in the Pokrovsk sector, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.
“Over the past day, the missile troops and artillery of the Ukrainian Defense Forces hit the command post and 6 other important Russian objects,” the General Staff writes.
Sectors
In the Kupiansk sector, 7 Russian attacks were registered near Lozova, Zahryzove, and Petropavlivka.
In the Lyman sector, Russians attacked 11 times near the settlements of Pershotravneve, Novoserhiivka, Zelena Dolyna, Kuzmine, Zelenyi Hai, and others.
In the Kramatorsk sector, Russians conducted 2 attacks in the area of Chasiv Yar.
In the Toretsk sector, Russians conducted 14 attacks in the vicinity of Toretsk.
In the Pokrovsk sector, the Defense Forces of Ukraine stopped 62 Russia's assault and offensive actions near Zelene Pole, Myroliubivka, Yelyzavetivka, Lysivka, Leontovychi, Zvirove, and other localities.
In the Novopavlivka sector, 5 Russian attacks were repelled near Kostiantynopil and Vremivka.
Russians attacked 3 times in the Prydniprovskyi sector.
9 Russian attacks were repelled in the Kursk region.
Russia's losses in war against Ukraine
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russia's losses in the full-scale war have exceeded 825,000 troops. Over the past day alone, Russia lost another 1,340 soldiers. The Ukrainian Defense Forces also destroyed 6 tanks, 12 armored combat vehicles, 62 artillery systems, and more.
