As of the evening of January 21, 109 combat engagements had taken place on the frontlines, with Russian forces launching their most intense attacks in the Pokrovsk direction, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the General Staff, since the start of the day, the enemy has carried out two missile strikes, 52 airstrikes using four missiles and 64 guided aerial bombs, 1,051 kamikaze drone attacks, and nearly 5,000 artillery shellings targeting Ukrainian forces and civilian settlements with various types of weapons.

In the Kharkiv direction, one engagement occurred near Vovchansk, where Russian forces also conducted an airstrike on Vovchanski Khutory.

In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy made ten attempts to dislodge Ukrainian units from positions near Dvorichna, Petropavlivka, Lozova, Kutkivka, and Nova Kruhlyakivka. One engagement is ongoing. An airstrike struck Hlushkivka.

The Russian army launched 13 attacks in the Lyman direction, attempting to advance near Kopanky, Terny, and Kolodiazi. Enemy aircraft also targeted Nadiya with unguided rockets.

In the Siversk direction, the Russian army attempted to advance towards Ivano-Darivka, but Ukrainian forces successfully repelled the attack.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the Defense Forces fended off six enemy attempts to push forward near the settlements of Chasiv Yar and Fedorivka. Two engagements are still ongoing. Airstrikes hit Maiske and Stupochky.

The enemy attempted to breach Ukrainian defenses six times in the Toretsk direction. Since the start of the day, occupiers received strong resistance from Ukrainian defenders five times near Toretsk. One attack is still ongoing. Additionally, the enemy carried out airstrikes on Druzhba and Kostiantynivka.

The enemy is intensively attacking Ukrainian defenders in the Pokrovsk direction. Throughout the day, the Russian army launched 54 assault and offensive actions.

The highest activity of Russian forces has been reported in the areas of Vodiane Druhe, Zelene Pole, Yelyzavetivka, Hryshyne, Novoserhiivka, Petropavlivka, Myroliubivka, Promin, Myrnohrad, Novyi Trud, Pokrovsk, Zvirove, Uspenivka, Sloviansk, Sribne, Shevchenko, Andriivka, Ulakly, Yantarne, and Dachne. Ukrainian defenders have repelled 47 attacks in the region, with seven engagements still ongoing.

As of today, the enemy's losses in this direction total 239 personnel, of whom 112 are irretrievably lost. Thirteen vehicles, two electronic warfare systems, and one artillery piece have been destroyed. Additionally, two enemy artillery pieces have been damaged.

In the Novopavlivka direction, three enemy assault actions were stopped as the Russian army attempted to advance on Ukrainian positions near Kostyantynopil and Velyka Novosilka. Three engagements are still ongoing.

In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy launched one attack on Ukrainian positions near Kamianske. Additionally, the Russian army carried out an airstrike in the area of Novoandriivka.

Our forces repelled two attacks by the Russian army in the Prydniprovskyi direction.

In the Huliaipole direction, the enemy has not carried out any active actions since the start of the day.

Seven combat engagements took place today in the Kursk direction. Additionally, the enemy launched 21 airstrikes (27 guided aerial bombs) and carried out 434 artillery shellings, including 16 from multiple rocket launchers (MLRS).

Russia's losses in the war

According to the General Staff, since the beginning of the full-scale war, Russia has lost over 822,000 soldiers.

In just the past 24 hours, Russian army losses amounted to 1,600 personnel.

Additionally, yesterday Ukrainian forces destroyed 12 tanks, 23 armored combat vehicles, 60 artillery systems, 130 operational-tactical drones, and other enemy equipment.
