Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of January 20

Since the beginning of January 20, 64 combat engagements have occurred on the front. Most attacks by Russian occupiers were recorded in the Pokrovsk direction, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
One enemy assault was repelled by Ukrainian soldiers near Vovchansk in the Kharkiv direction.
Two assault actions by the occupiers were stopped by Ukrainian defenders near Petropavlivka and Zahryzove in the Kupiansk direction.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy is attacking Nadiya, Novoyehorivka, Makiivka, and Terny. Since the start of the day, seven combat engagements have been recorded in this direction, one of which is still ongoing. Enemy aviation also struck Zelene Hai, Drobysheve, and Zelena Dolyna with KABs (guided aerial bombs).
In the Siversk direction, the occupiers attempted to advance toward Verkhniokamianske but were repelled.
In the Kramatorsk direction, Defense Forces repelled seven enemy attempts to advance near the settlement of Chasiv Yar and toward Stupochky. Three combat engagements are currently ongoing. Mykolaivka and Stupochky were hit by aerial bombings.
In the Toretsk direction, the enemy attacked Ukrainian positions eight times near Toretsk, Krymske, and Ozaryanivka. The enemy also dropped aerial bombs on Kostyantynivka and Katerynivka.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy attacked the positions of Ukrainian defenders 29 times today near the settlements of Vodyane Druhe, Myroliubivka, Yelyzavetivka, Myrnohrad, Kotlyne, Nadiivka, Andriivka, Shevchenko, Dachne, Ulakly, and Yantarne. Eight combat engagements are still ongoing. Pervomaiske, Troyanda, and Pokrovsk suffered airstrikes from KABs.
In the Novopavlivka direction, two enemy assault actions were stopped, and three others are ongoing. The occupiers are attempting to advance on Ukrainian positions near Kostyantynopol, Rozlyv, Velyka Novosilka, and toward Pryvilne. Kostyantynopol and Novopil were hit by airstrikes.
In the Prydniprovske direction, near Kozatskyi Island, the enemy made one unsuccessful assault on Ukrainian defensive positions today.
The occupiers attacked Ukrainian defenders three times in the Kursk direction. Additionally, the enemy carried out 15 airstrikes, dropping 23 KABs on Russian territory.
Russian losses in the war
According to the General Staff, since the beginning of the full-scale war against Ukraine, Russia has lost over 820,000 personnel.
In particular, the losses of Russian occupiers yesterday amounted to 1,690 personnel. Ukrainian forces also neutralized 10 tanks, 42 armored fighting vehicles, 19 artillery systems, 3 air defense systems, 153 operational-tactical UAVs, 87 vehicles, and 6 units of special equipment.
