Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of January 19

Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled nearly 100 enemy attacks in the Pokrovsk area within one day. A total of 199 combat clashes were recorded on the front line, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Over the past 24 hours, aviation, missile forces, and artillery of the Defense Forces struck eight areas where enemy personnel, weaponry, and military equipment were concentrated, as well as two air defense stations, one command post, one fuel supply depot, one electronic warfare station, and six other significant enemy targets.
Situation in the directions
In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy attempted to storm the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine six times near Vovchansk.
The Defense Forces repelled enemy assault actions near Petropavlivka, Lozova, and Pishchane in the Kupiansk direction, where nine attacks by the occupiers occurred over the day.
In the past 24 hours, the enemy attacked 11 times in the Lyman direction. They tried to break through the defense near the settlements of Zelionyi Hay, Pershotravneve, Kopanka, Novoyehorivka, Novosadove, Novoliubivka, and Zarichne.
Siversk direction: the enemy stormed positions near Bilohorivka once but was unsuccessful.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the occupiers attacked 11 times in the areas of Stupochky, Predtechyn, and Chasiv Yar.
The enemy launched 20 attacks in the Toretsk direction in the areas of Toretsk, Krymske, and Shcherbynivka.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped 98 enemy offensive actions toward the settlements of Vodiane Druhe, Zelenе Pole, Malynivka, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Zvirove, Udachne, Novoandriivka, Yelyzavetivka, Promin, Lysivka, Zelenе, Shevchenko, Uspenivka, Slovianka, Andriivka, Dachne, Ulakly, and Yantarne.
The Defense Forces repelled 19 enemy attacks in the Novopavlivsk direction. The occupiers were most active in trying to advance near Velyka Novosilka.
No combat clashes were reported in the Hulyaipole direction over the past day.
In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy attacked Ukrainian defenders' positions once toward Novodanylivka.
In the Prydniprovske direction, the Defense Forces of Ukraine stopped two enemy assaults.
Over the past day in the Kursk direction, there were 12 combat encounters, with the enemy launching five airstrikes with guided bombs and conducting 464 artillery shellings, including 18 from multiple rocket launch systems.
No signs of enemy offensive groupings were observed in the Volyn and Polissia directions.
Russian losses
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, over the past day, Ukrainian forces eliminated 1,580 occupiers. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Russia has lost 818,000 soldiers.
The Ministry of Defense reported that last year, Russia suffered record losses — 430,790 soldiers. This number is equivalent to nearly 36 motorized rifle divisions.
