Over the past day, January 6, 218 combat engagements took place on the frontline. In the Kursk region, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 94 Russian attacks, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“Over the past day, aviation, missile forces, and artillery of the Ukrainian Defense Forces hit 12 areas of concentration of personnel and equipment, 2 radar stations, two air defense facilities, as well as another important object of the Russian invaders,” Ukraine's General Staff writes.
Sectors
In the Kharkiv sector, Ukrainian troops repelled 3 Russian attacks near Vovchansk.
In the Kupiansk sector, 4 battles took place near the settlements of Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Topoli, and Zahryzove.
In the Lyman sector, Russians attacked 13 times. Russia tried to advance near Nadiia, Pershotravneve, Terny, Yampolivka, Zarichne, and Makiivka.
In the Siversk sector, Russia attacked Ukrainian troops' positions twice near Bilohorivka.
In the Kramatorsk sector, 5 firefights took place in the areas of Chasiv Yar, Bila Hora, and in the direction of Stupochky.
In the Toretsk sector, Russian troops conducted eight attacks near Shcherbynivka and Toretsk.
In the Pokrovsk sector, 41 Russian assaults and offensive actions were stopped in the areas of Myroliubivka, Promin, Sukhyi Yar, Pishchane, Kotlyne, Ukrainka, and beyond.
In the Kurakhove sector, 26 Russian attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops near Slovianka, Sribne, Andriivka, Petropavlivka, Kurakhove, and Dachne were repelled.
In the Vremivka sector, Russians conducted 3 offensives against the positions of Ukrainian units in the areas of Kostyantynopol, Yantarne, Dachne, and Kostiantynopolske.
In the Orikhiv sector, a Russian attack was repelled near Novodanylivka.
